Great campground very clean and lots to do. Pools and playgrounds were great. Very nice for children of all ages. Trolley was nice to have, but the free parking at the beach is a huge extra; especially with young children and tons of things to carry. Our family loved it and will be back!
We had a great stay at Cherrystone, it was beautiful. At night it was very quiet and you could hear all the birds. The activities were great for the kids. The campground and bathhouses were clean and great after going to the beach to get rid of the sand. My children, even my two year old, loved the fishing pier. We were just as amazed as she was when she was able to catch crabs. Only complaint was a few of the employees were to busy talking to other employees and not very friendly. Most of the employees were happy and great with the kids.
Yogi at Luray was great!! It is our kid's favorite campground. We stayed for their not so scary Halloween for younger kids. So many activities the kids were worn out. It was great to go trick or treating early and not at dark. My 2 year old really enjoyed it, and my 5 year old thought it was the best to dance with Yogi at night.
We loved American Heritage campground. It was one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. It had a nice new playground, pool that was clean, and a great large dog run. The bathrooms and campground were very clean. The staff was very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay at Kiptopeake State park. It is great for young children. The beach was not crowded at all and the water was swallow with no large waves. The sites were very level and a good size. It has a nice play gound. Our only complaint were the bathrooms were very dirty.
We were very unhappy with our stay here. We mad reservation a month in advance and a asked to be next to our fiends. They also did the same, we were across the campground from them. The next morning when our friends site next to them was empty. We asked to move the said no! What made it worse is that the site was empty the rest of the stay. Our site was very small. It was hard to maneuver around all the trees. A huge challenge to move the camper to have the awning out. The staff was very RUDE and not helpful, even when at the gift shop. We had to listen to loud music till about 3 in the morning. We also had problems with the water pressure at times it would just drip out.
