Rate reflects 2 extra kids at $5 each. Overall a nice campground. All facilities are nice, but a little on the older side. Planned activities for the kids. The store had the basics for a campground. Every time we have been here it was very quiet at night. Only negatives were the water pressure was a little low and the grass needed to be cut. (It was a holiday weekend.) This was our third time here and we definitely will be going back.
The campground was nice and well maintained. We opted to drive to Hersheypark and pay $10 instead of waiting for the shuttle bus. Seemed to work better for us. The train mentioned in other posts was very loud and frequent. Because of this we requested a site in Woodland section and it was still pretty loud even with the AC on. This did not affect my thoughts on the campground because the woman who took our reservation was very clear about it. Also the roads and sites were narrow in this section. Our fire ring was about 2 feet from the slide on our neighbors RV. We stayed in site 165. Don't want this review to sound too negative because overall we were happy with this campground and would definitely return. This is a great place to stay when visiting Hersheypark and guests can enter the park an hour earlier than normal opening time and buy discounted tickets at the store.
This place is great! Huge campground with nice staff. Lake was good and has a snack bar right on the beach. The only reason for a 9 is we were in site 37 and as prior posters have said, the highway noise was LOUD, especially at night. Liked it so much though we would return even if we had to take the same site.
Rate reflects 2 children and Good Sam discount (be sure you have a current card as they will ask for it). Place was great. Went for two nights and stayed a 3rd. It was during the week so it was not crowded. There is an airport and shooting club nearby as mentioned in other posts, but it was never bothersome (we had site 103). Close to Plymouth Harbor. Wi-Fi was good, but they only give 1 hr a day free and I had to ask for it. We really liked that they have a separate section of the campground for people with pets. We would definitely return.
Stopped here with no reservations and no availability. We were in the lot looking up somewhere to go and they came running out saying they had a cancellation. The staff were VERY nice and helpful. Our site had just been upgraded and they now have sites with 50 amp hook-up. Very nice place. Clean bathrooms, great store, nice pool, playground and a fenced in pet area (We were very happy to see this). Little pricey, but par with New England campgrounds and our price reflects 2 children. Wi-Fi signal was good, but it got slower as the night went on. We would definitely stay here again.
Rate reflects a "Special Event" week-end. This place is huge. Really nice campground with a VERY helpful staff. Thought the price was high and you have to stay a minimum of 4 nights during holidays. We liked the place a lot but probably would not return due to high prices and extra fees for everything including Wi-Fi.
This is a nice campground close to the highway. This was our third time stopping here for the night. The rate reflects 2 extra kids and a GS discount. Nice pool, clean bathrooms. Nice playground for the kids. Wi-Fi worked great. As mentioned in other posts, in the evening trains come often and loud. Seemed to be less frequent as the night went on (with the A/C on it was not an issue). Rating would be a 9 without the trains, but we will definitely stay here again.
The campground next door was recommended but after seeing its proximity to the road and a public road through the middle of it, we tried Foothills instead. This is a small campground at the edge of town. Check-in was nice and we were told which sites were open and allowed to choose the one we liked best. Took site 4: it was nice and close to the pool and restrooms. The toilet/shower area had A/C, was spotless, and played nice background music. The rate shown reflects 2 extra kids. Also, we didn't see the inside but other guests were raving about the rental cabins. This is a small, very well maintained campground close to it all, and we would definitely stay here again.
We wanted to stay at the well known place down the road, but after reading the reviews decided to stay here for two nights instead. What a great choice! It was during the week, so it was as if we had the place to ourselves. Bathhouses were clean. Grounds were immaculate. After staying here we wished we had paid the extra money for a waterfront site (they are water and electric only but pump-out is available). The pool is very nice, but thought it was a bit small for a campground of this size. The owners of this place go out of their way to keep it nice. I was going to give them a 9, but one night a storm rolled through and the next day the owner was out cleaning all of the roads of fallen pine needles. We are definitely planning on going back.
We chose this campground in part because of its proximity to Camping World and another RV store as we were having tire issues (the RV store does not do tire work? and were not very friendly). We liked this campground so much, we added a third night to our stay. The staff was very nice and really stayed on top of things. Very nice store, beautiful huge pool but a small playground. I can't believe it was hardly mentioned in previous posts, but it is close to the highway and was a bit noisy. We didn't mind though because of how nice everything else was and we had the A/C on anyway. Apparently the RV behind us needed more power and was plugged into our outlet which tripped the breaker. We called the office and they had someone to our site in about one minute to correct the issue. That is good customer service. We would definitely stay here again.
We stopped here just for the night. The rate reflects a higher price with kids. This is not a place to go for kids, but they even told us that on the phone when we called for availability. The staff was very friendly, it was pouring when we got there so he said come to the office when it stopped so I didn't even have to get out of the truck. Bathrooms were very clean and air conditioned. Sites are on the small side, but this is a nice and quiet place close to the interstate to rest for the night, and we would stop here again.
We stayed near the office on the top of the hill. Wi-Fi signal was good. The lady in the office was VERY nice and helpful with area info. The bathroom/showers was one of the cleanest I've ever seen. Laundry room was clean and reasonably priced. Pool was a bit small for a campground, but crystal clear and entire recreation area was very nice and very kid friendly. The place was well maintained and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice well kept campground. The lady in the office was VERY nice. Nice pool and clean facilities. We stayed near the playground which was nice for the kids. Only here for one night (was very quiet too), and we would stay here again.
Wanted a local campground for the weekend and decided to try this one. It is very small, but also hardly any traffic and no crowds. The pool and facilities were nice and well maintained. I was concerned at first about being so close to the airport, but it was not disruptive and actually enjoyable seeing the planes come and go (they're pretty far away). The owner of the campground helped people in and out of their sites and could be seen around camp all day making sure things were OK. We would recommend this campground.
Where do I start? We will NEVER stay at this campground again! This was the second most expensive place we have camped, and by far the worst. The staff was mostly teenagers who bickered about everything they were told to do, and one of the lifeguards, after having to blow the whistle at someone was telling guests how much she hated kids! There was Latino music blasting morning to night. The music across from my site was so loud many people complained to the management. Quiet time is 11:00 and all three nights we were here, music was blasting until 1:30 AM (I'm talking DJ at a wedding, loud). The pool was in the process of being rebuilt so obviously it was closed. With a little planning maybe there would have been a pool for 4th of July. Some of the bathhouses were locked shut, and the open ones were deplorable. Another problem was SUV's speeding around the place for something to do. They were doing laps just cruising around with their stereos cranked up and drinking! One of them even crashed and had to have it towed! If it wouldn't have been upsetting to our children, we would have left after the first couple of hours (maybe we should have). I would not recommend this campground to anyone, and wish I found this website before staying here.
