This is just a wee place on the property of the landowner and host. It is a great place to spend the weekend just to chill out in your coach, but it doesn't have a lot to offer other than a completely wonderful host who is more than attentive and so friendly. We met some very nice folks here. Although I wouldn't call it a destination, it is definitely worth an overnight--laid back, pet friendly, a few fulltimers. It has a very small library in the office, and some bathrooms and laundry area, but that is about all. Heard all kinds of wildlife at night! Lovely area!
The park was OK but not a destination. We felt there were too many fulltimers there. There are some quiet spots away from the clubhouse and pool that seem to be the center of the park but then you are getting a little close to the main road. It is rural and quiet for the most part. It is close to the Homossassa River. Clubhouse has a restaurant. We were told there were nearby hiking trails.
Cramped park, but nice hosts. We met some really nice folks here. They have a great store with baked goods. There area some great sites right on the inland waterway. We had an issue with the MH and had to leave, no refund, but this is pretty standard. Pet friendly and real close to town, worth a stay.
This park is close to where we live and every time we just want to get away we go. It is spacious and friendly and a great place to take walks. We have enjoyed every visit. Great place to chill out and walk the dogs, there is also a Tiki Bar and great swimming. We love it. It is on a natural spring. Well maintained, has a store for the essentials.
After the previous park we inhabited in the area, we were overjoyed to be here. This is a lovely and spacious park, run by a non-profit, with a huge organic farm. The Appalachian Trail is in close proximity, and nearly every site has a stream in the back, as well as decks and picnic tables for your eating pleasure. They are pet and family friendly although when we were there it was August and it was on the quiet side. There is a huge lodge where you can get breakfast if you wish, but only at certain times. Yes, they charge for firewood and a permit, but it is a place where they try to keep things as pristine as possible. We had great walks to a 200 foot waterfall and Loved this place. It was serene and relaxing and just wonderful. We look very forward to returning one day soon.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet at this small park, but not much room to walk dogs and was unimpressed that they prefer cash or check and that there is a 3% charge a for credit cards. The park is clean and maintained, hosts are friendly. The area is gorgeous, even though it rained the whole stay, just don't drive through Helen to get there or you'll be stuck in traffic. Very scenic!
