This is our 4th stay here and we always enjoy it. We stay in the annex campground where the sites have a little more room between them. Each site has a concrete pad and full hookups. For the Famcamp and the annex, there are 3 dog parks, access to the beach, and a golf course. The people in the office are friendly and helpful. We will return.
We have stayed here many times and always enjoy our stay. This time the staff went out their way to help us. I just mentioned in the office our battery was dead on our car, within minutes they had security there to jump the car. We tried to tip the guy, but he said no thanks his pleasure. I know Ocean Lakes can be busy and crowded but the amenities more than make up for that. All pull-through, 50 amp, cable, Wi-Fi, telephone hookup if you need it and most sites have concrete pads. We will be coming back for years to come.
Beautiful park, yes you do need to watch for tree limbs but it is manageable. We stayed on the pet loop and our dog had plenty of exercise chasing the lizards. If this park had sewer we would rate it a 10. The showers were hot with good water pressure. The employees were friendly. The surrounding area offered a lot, multi purpose trail, great beaches. St Petersburg and Clearwater are a short distance away. We would stay here again.
We love coming to this campground. The German dinner was excellent, games were fun and most important our dogs had a good time. We had a nice site, everyone was friendly and we will definitely return. The owners go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Our Springer loves coming here. This is the first time our Lab came with us and he enjoyed the pond and meeting some other labs. The addition of the private fenced area was great. We will definitely be back.
This park has nicely spaced large sites and friendly check-in. Some of the roads were a little tight, but manageable. We used this campground to do day trips in the area. This is our first time here but we would definitely come back if in the area.
This was a last minute change of plans for us and we were pleasantly surprised. Our site is huge, bathrooms were clean, showers had a large dressing area, nice bike & walking baths. This campground is dog friendly and even had a dog swim while we were there. There was some noise from the trains but not bad. If in the area, we would stay here again.
This is our first visit but won't be our last. We had a water site and parked facing the water. We enjoyed watching the sunset at night from our site. Lots of biking, walking, nice beaches, etc. Everyone from the check out to the store have been very friendly. I understand now why you have to make reservations 11 months in advance. The only item that could make this park better would be sewer hookups. We will return.
Nice campground with very friendly people working there. We enjoyed the screened pool & hot tub, as well as the free breakfast, lunch & newspaper. We had service work done and it was very convenient. The only things that could make this better would be larger sites and a place to walk your dog other than close to the campsites. If we were in the area, we would stay again.
We are here in the off season so we almost have the place to ourselves. This is a very nice park and you can tell the pride the owners have by how well maintained it is. Our site is huge. It is nice looking out your window and seeing cranes walking by. Good bike trails, pool and lots of places to walk your dog. The people working at check in were friendly. If in the area we would stay here again.
Large sites with good natural barriers between each site. The ocean across the street, we had a river view site (actually intercoastal waterway) and gorgeous sunsets. Park is close to all of the St Augustine attractions and shopping. Within walking distance to 2 restaurants. We do plan on coming back to this campground.
The sites are huge, there's nice access to the beach, the trails were nice, has paved roads to ride your bikes on and the birds and alligators put on a show on the causeway every morning. The only thing that would make this campground better would be a sewer connection. We have already made plans to come back.
This was our 3rd visit to this campground and will not be our last. The owners went out of their way to talk to everyone and the catered dinner on July 4th was excellent. Lots of activities on the weekend. Our dog played until she was exhausted and we know she can't wait to come back again. We had friends who came to this campground for the first time and they will be back as well. If you have dogs, you need to come here. We had a pull thru site, level, nice picnic table, and we were able to use our aircard, (Verizon) and DirecTV.
This is our 3rd stay at this campground. We are in one of the premium sites and it is worth the extra money. A large concrete pad with lots of room between the sites. The new dog park is a huge bonus. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed on a waterfront site on the Grand Lagoon. Most of the sites have natural privacy from the trees or bushes. We enjoyed bike riding and the beach. This is an active campground. The Camp host we talked to was very helpful. Rangers ride through here often and everyone spoke. If in the area, we would stay here again.
Convenient location to visit New Orleans. You can walk to the French Quarter with no problems. All of the sites are back-ins, the people in the office are extremely friendly & helpful. The only thing that would make it better would be a pet area to walk your dog. If in the area, we would stay here again.
Nice, large sites, long dog run. We were on a private site on the end with privacy. Complimentary breakfast is a plus. Would stay here again if in the area. Would have gave it a 10 if there had been a pool. Resort is very clean, they rake the gravel when you leave.
Level pull thru sites with full hookups. We had a premium site, close to the pool with a patio & picnic table. Very nice campground. Watering system works during the night so there is grass at each site and some small trees. Several small dog runs. Enjoyed the adult only pool & spa. They also have a family pool. Pool area has lots of palm trees. Convenient to the Las Vegas strip. We would definitely stay here again.
Level sites a little close together. Small dog park. Convenient to Amarillo sites. Friendly people at check in. Our surge protector shut off the electric and the maintenance person said they didn't have surges in the area. Not sure if we would stay here again.
Convenient for taking the train to the Grand Canyon. Level sites, full hookups. Central location for grilling, but people don't scrape the grills after use. No picnic tables at the sites, no grass. It is more like a parking area. If in the area again, we probably would stay elsewhere.
This is a great campground for dogs and their humans. The owners have made several improvements and really make you feel welcome. Events are planned each weekend. It is nice to go to a place where your dog can run and play in a safe environment, fenced off leash areas, pond, creek, agility & more. The campsites are full hookups, and space between each site. We already have plans to come back in Nov. and will return next year as well.
Site was small and not level at all. Small steep incline to get out of site. If you like fishing and boating you may like this campground. Mostly seasonal sites. Advertises WiFi but the signal was very weak. The people in the office were very friendly but we wouldn't stay here again.
This park is absolutely beautiful. We had a pull in site facing the water which included a patio, dock and tiki hut with a wet bar. This is the largest site we have ever had. The tropical setting is really making it hard to go back home to the cold. The WiFi is free and worked great. Most of the people have been friendly. We have enjoyed our stay here. As they say, you should stay here at least once. We do plan on coming back to the area for a longer stay, but will stay at Sigsbee since it is only $20 a night. THe nightly rate here is $108.
This campground is well maintained. The employees have been friendly. After reading the prior reviews we didn't know what to expect, but apparently a lot of changes have taken place. The only negative is we couldn't get a 50 amp site. The last Nascar race will be in Homestead and the campground will be full towards the end of the week. Other than that, our site is large, the pool is great, the laundry area is good, the campground is surrounded by nurseries. The paved walking trail is a plus. Overall we have enjoyed this campground and would stay here again.
We were a little concerned after reading some of the previous posts so we were pleasantly surprised after arriving. We couldn't get a site on the ocean side but the site we have on the park side is larger and the park side is quieter. It is an easy walk to the beach. We love the convenience of the location and being able to ride our bikes to restaurants and shopping. We do plan to return here again for a longer stay and hope to get one of the ocean sites. The sunsets are beautiful. The office staff has been very helpful. WiFi works great, but it is a little pricey; $25.00 a week. We really enjoyed this part of our trip.
If you have a dog, you owe it to them to bring them to this campground. We have a 5 month old puppy who had a blast, she also received excellent training. She loved the off leash areas and getting to meet other dogs. We know we will be back here again. The campground is in a real peaceful setting. The owners have made this a place to return to year after year.
This park has excellent amenities. The bathrooms are spotless. We loved the lazy river and pool area. The only negative is we wish our site was wider. It is nice they have covered picnic tables, but we can't put our awning out. We have always stayed at Ocean Lakes but would stay here again. Not having all the golf cars zooming around is a plus.
We are here now. The hill was interesting coming up but once we set up everything was fine. The sites are large and there is plenty to do. We are in site 1571 and the WiFi works great, using it now. Check-in was quick and everyone was nice. Went to the Shady Maple as recommended and it was very good. When we are in the area again, we will stay here.
This is our second trip to this campground and they have added WiFi since our last visit which is a plus. The people in the office are friendly, the campground is always clean and we enjoy the area. We will stay here again when we come through the area.
This campground is a little off the beaten path, but it is a very nice campground. The sites were large with a natural setting. The people in the office were friendly and helpful. They do have a fishing pond and a nature trail which leads to the National forest. We would definitely go back again.
