We were extemely disappointed with this campground. No problem getting registered but found site to be all sand and dirt. Absolutely no grass so kids were filthy all weekend. Pool was far too small for amount of people. Ok beach area, but again was overcrowded. Lots of activities but that meant kids running all over the place and golf carts whizzing by all day and evening long. We were placed directly across from skatepark/playground. Another big mistake- was far too loud and always had kids (and adults even) walking right through the middle of our campsite. We had no quiet and no privacy. Majority of campground was seasonal with every type of add-on possible to them. Some nice but most not very nice looking. We actually ended up leaving early because we were so unhappy. I would definitely NOT stay here again.
Overall nice park. Pool area was absolutely great. Perfect for all ages. Lots of activities offered. Food and service at snack bar area leaves a bit to be desired. Slow and lukewarm. Several of the staff members are kids/grandkids of the owners so sometimes they're chatting with their friends instead of attending to the activities and such. The younger ones would participate in the games and run around everywhere without supervision. Not good for us as guests. Wi-Fi worked briefly once and then not the whole rest of our time there, about 5 days. I was told other people's computers could block ours. I've never heard of that before. Also I made our reservations way back in April and was never told that the campground was full due to the Harley-Davidson convention nearby. Needless to say, lots of noise from the loud motorcycles. We were in a pull-thru site, lots of shade and good spacing. We would stay stay here again but I will definitely ask beforehand about any other conventions.
Overall, an ok campground, nothing special. They really had campers packed in close. We were on a newer site with sewer so not as bad but still close. Luckily we camped with good friends. Can tube down the stream but have to walk to drop in point and stream was flowing very fast even though it wasn't deep. There is a small beach area on the stream but again because of the current it is hard to really swim. The little ones certainly weren't safe there. The newer playground was nice. Store was sparse. Lots of golf carts running around. Also long walk to get anywhere. Probably won't go back- too many nicer ones out there.
The hilly, gravel entrance road to the campground was a bit of a nuisance. The campground is very spread out. We also were at the bottom of the park near the river which was a very long walk (although we usually drove) to the main buildings and pool area. Pool is small but clean. Only went in one porta-potty but it was amazingly spotless and nice smelling. We had tons of room on our site with a scenic view. Loved the tubing. However they won't let you walk to their river entrance without paying a fee which we didn't want to do at $10 for 5 people. We ended up renting a couple of tubes, putting in right at our site and getting out in Zumbro Falls where we had parked our truck. The beach/river access areas for the campground are not easily found. Also it would be easy to miss the end point for the campground's tubing stop area. The campground owner was always available and very friendly. I don't know if we'll go back or not. There are many RV parks a lot better and many worse.
This is a very nice family friendly campground. Large, grassy sites are well-maintained with just about perfect distances between them. Also there is a great pool area although we couldn't use the hot tub because they wouldn't let kids in- however many people probably really appreciate this. We would definitely go back.
This campground was so-so. The sites were OK although there were many rigs from out of state parked there but without anyone staying in them. There were few to no activities offered. I realize it was before the official camping season began but there should still be more offered. Playground equipment and office/store looked outdated and run-down. However, owners were friendly. We probably would not go back.
We were very disappointed with this campground. The pool was closed part of the time and dirty the rest of the time. The playground is OK, but both the playground and pool were far away from our site. There were no hot showers, no activities, poor gravel roads so biking for the kids was very difficult, no shade, and traffic was constantly driving in, out, and around all the sites. We were even located in the back "newer" section and always had to worry about vehicles. This section also had sites that faced each other so "our" camp area was largely decreased and awkward at times with the neighbors. I think this campground would be more suitable for partying tenters as the tent areas were quite nice. The only good were several rules about noise and such, and security was frequently driving around monitoring activities. I would not camp here again.
