This is a neat, clean park for short-term stays. Wi-Fi now included in the $33 nightly rate and it was adequate. We were on a concrete pad with some grass beside. There are gravel pads also. Limited shower and restroom facilities, but they didn't seem to be used that much so were available.
This is an excellent facility with the positive reviews summing up the park. We found good wi-fi, pool, games room, library, etc. and at a very good price that can't be beat. Check-in was mixed up, but we finally got sorted out and were led to our site with a promise that we could extend our stay for up to 10 more days if we wished because our site was not booked until later in the next month. We went to extend our stay and were then told our unit didn't qualify to stay (length not 25 feet). The requirement was not in the rules or anywhere on the web site, but an employee had solicited us for an RV wash, and we refused. At that point he "noticed" our unit was short. We were allowed to stay for the initial booked time "rather than embarrass us" but then would not honor the commitment for a few days extension. I suppose they have every right to refuse to extend, but it cost us several dollars as we had booked another RV park expecting to be able to extend and then had to make other reservations at higher cost. They advertise shower/restroom suites but leave only one "suite" available (very nice, but one!). The basic showers in the basic restroom facility are what are made available, with about 8 "shower suites" locked by key and not accessible through the electronic pass. To sum it up..the park is excellent and modern and great value at $20 night, if your rig is a Class A motorhome or large trailer, but the office is messed up with a bunch of inexperienced employees. Rules state "no soliciting by employees," but we were solicited within minutes of parking for an RV wash service by an employee. We were only casually approached regarding lot sales, but I do have to agree that is one of the main responsibilities of the office staff. Had they come back to us on day 2 or 3 and discussed our situation or mentioned it and agreed to the extension this park would rate a 10, but the errors, treatment, and arrogance of the manager when she discussed this with us were unforgivable. I was not embarrassed at all. We all make equipment choices. I believe they did themselves a disservice and embarrassed their park and people. We enjoyed our stay until the last day.
We've stayed here before and the park was OK. I've changed my opinion as a result of the latest visit. I don't think we'll be back. The sites are very dusty/dry. The restrooms and showers were OK but not really maintained as well as they could be. I just feel a general lack of interest and pride in the maintenance of the facilities. Lots of ants and on this visit they found their way into our trailer and the dog dish on the inside. Easy to eliminate but still an irritant to me.
This is quite a good park. Very spacious, some green grass, a lot of shade. No internet access except in the visitor center for a fee. I really liked the park but found the reception on arrival "cool." No information provided except a receipt and a map of the sites and where to go. No additional help provided. When I had problems connecting to the internet at the building the attitude seemed to be a "bother." Also the building was locked up one hour earlier than posted so I had to bother someone to open up for internet access. Very nice surroundings. Some washrooms need help. One with the door barely hanging on it's hinges. Showers look very clean. Restrooms less so with some good and some in need of repair as above. There is freeway noise but it is acceptable.
We started out booked in the lower level campground area and quickly were being overrun with ants. About 100 in the dog dish in the trailer and a stream of them marching in and out along the satellite cable, up the wall, through a tiny opening in a slideout, down to the dish. We moved to the upper level and encountered some ants outside but they are under control in the new area, so far. The concrete pads versus the gravel in the lower level helps keep things under control. Very modern restrooms, showers in the new area. Green grass available in the park area but not at the upper level sites themselves, just a few steps away. Generally we had a good experience aside from one very old motorhome which moved in next door. Five dogs were let loose to defecate wherever, until we complained to the staff and soon they were brought somewhat under control. Aside from the ants initally and the one set of short-term neighbours, everything was quite good. We will be staying in the upper level again.
A very well maintained site. We stayed overnight. Sites are OK size (good pull through) and facilities are basic but in really good shape. Not sure what I would do in the park long term or in Bakersfield long-term but a good overnighter or few days site! Friendly office. $4 for internet service was a bit much for one night (especially since I signed up for the month with Tengo but can't seem to use it now. Also lost the connection after a few hours and the network had a "funny" name after that. Seemed secure, but not sure with the different name
Good county park type facility and well maintained. Ants were mentioned by another couple and we saw them at our fire pit due to someone leaving food in it. That seemed to keep them away from our trailer so we were OK. Showers were free and included: lots of hot water and quite clean, though basic. I would not hesitate to spend more days in this park!
The amenities and sites are fine here. Great pools and other recreation and activities. Paved small patio, gravel RV parking and asphalt vehicle parking. Everything is in good condition and very well maintained. This park would get near a 10 except they messed up our arrival. Office was closed early and the gate apologized for not having information (not his fault). We parked in what was supposed to be our site. The next day we were told we would have to move as someone had the site booked later. We shortened our stay instead. Then they told us the site was actually a higher rated site than what we paid for and tried to charge us for the difference. The site type changed after we arranged our stay. We refused to pay more than the agreed rate since it was already paid. The office staff are incompetent and only interested in long term snowbirds, it seems. Garbage dumpsters are few in number and can be a long way away and very full at times. Pet area is limited but they are supposed to be building a pet walk (impression this has been ongoing and taking some time.) Aside from the administration I would recommend this park.
For our rate I would have expected a patch of grass on the site. They mention gravel back-ins but no photos are shown of them so you assume gravel instead of concrete but still some grass...not so. Wi-Fi is definitely not high speed unless you are online at 2:00AM like me. Then it's so-so. Very pleasant people. Very clean and neat park. Wish our dog had been allowed some grass. $2 showers for 10 minutes knocks it down to 7.5/10.
Sites are quite tight. Entry in and out of the park is very tight but doable. With the space allotted the site have to be pull thru's. WIFI was slow but was usable (about 10 times dial-up speed). Friendly service was provided. Neat and tidy surroundings.
This park provides excellent value. Well maintained, roomy sites at a very reasonable cost. The only complaint I have which lowered my rating from a 9 or 10 is the limited public washroom facilities. I can live without wifi occasionally.
