We stayed here on our way to the Hill Country because we wanted to take in the San Antonio RV show. This is a typical large, big city RV park with lots of spaces and lots of RV's. That being said, it is well laid out, very clean and nice. We had a large, wide, level pull through space, with good hookups. The office staff were really accommodating, and even gave us a pass to the RV Show (they were one of the sponsors). This appears to be a good home base for San Antonio sightseeing. It is a couple of blocks from Sea World, and is close enough to freeways to make going to other attractions such as Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, etc., fairly easy.

This is a typical State Park, with pretty scenery, and adequate, but smallish sites. We didn't care for the fact that the site next door had a fire ring that was almost directly under our slideout, and unfortunately, they did almost all of their cooking there. The park has nice hiking trails, a fishing lake, and a scenic road that connects to Bastrop State Park ( a pretty drive, but don't try it with your trailer- there is very little overhead clearance).

This was my fifth time at this park. It is really nice, with large spaces, lots of trees, a beautiful view of the Frio, and nice Hill Country views in the other directions. Our back window overlooked the river, and we saw lots of wildlife while we were there. The staff is very friendly, the store is well stocked, and the showers are clean. This is one of our favorite spots in the Hill Country, and we will be back often.

We booked for the entire weekend, but my wife became very ill on Saturday, and we had to leave. The staff was very understanding, and gave us a refund, which I did not expect. Kudos on their customer service. This is a very nice park on the water. Lots of space to walk, and lots of water access to fish. Very nice, concrete pads and modern, working, hookup pedestals. It appears that there are more than a few long-termers here, so make reservations early. The owners and staff are very nice, personable, and accommodating. The location is very convenient to Kemah, Texas City, and Galveston, but still close enough to IH45 that getting to Houston is not too much of a chore. We will definitely be back.
