Park office was closed upon arrival, as we got in off the road around 9:00pm, we were able to review their maps of sites available, found our spot, dropped of the payment and we were done. Never met the management team, as we were on the road during their regular work hours. Park was clean, but do no think we would make this as a destination spot as there are no shaded sites except for a few full time sites.
What a beautiful park, we found this park via the internet and it looked exactly like the pictures. We were on a family vacation with another couple and stayed here for a week, it was close to several historic sites to make day trips to. We stayed here in August and found that we were there during the black berry season, which grow wild in and around the park. Management was very friendly and helpful once we arrived, only problem is highway 1 is not for the faint of heart and the park is a very tight fit for large RV's
We camped here with the the intention of a short get away, before you decide to stay here by reviewing their web site, please understand that the photos taken must be either from a long time ago, or someone painted a very nice picture. yes we stayed here in the summer and understandably there will be some "brown areas", but we did not foresee the entire park being being brown. There was no green spots to be found. Managers were helpful with tourism questions, park appeared to be a full time park for just about anything with wheels. I would not suggest this park to anyone who enjoys camping, as a Wal-Mart parking lot offers at least a green belt or flower.
