There has been a change of ownership with wonderful results. We felt very welcome here and not intimidated as we were by the previous owner. The park is in beautiful shape with all paved/concrete roads and parking pads. All hookups were excellent. This park is very pet friendly and would be a great place for a club rally. Our rate was based on Good Sam discount including tax. We will stay here again in our 40 footer.
We have camped here several times and have enjoyed the stay. This time of the year the park is very busy and as a result the electricity is under heavy load. We were having problems with low voltage in the range of 103 to 108 volts. This can be a problem for those in motor homes and trailer/fifth wheels causing some systems to be damaged or nonfunctional. The park has cement roads and sites with plenty of room. They include fire pit, picnic table and a nice size cement pad for stretching out. I selected the showers and restrooms as being clean but that can vary depending on time of day depending of the type of activity, the floors can get a bit muddy. The volunteers and park rangers are all friendly and helpful. The lake is stocked with fish and up to 10hp motors are allowed. I mostly saw row boats and canoes. There are several presentations and walking tours weekly. Other than the electrical problems we experienced this trip, we always enjoy the serenity of this park and the scenery at 6300 ft. The nearby towns of Show Low and Lakeside/Pine Top include many good places to eat and things to do. There is a nice casino with a hotel called Hon Da at Pine Top.
Nice fancy RV resort style park. A little fancy and expensive for the general area. Our site was spic and span as one might expect with this level of park. We stayed one night and enjoyed some of what they had to offer, including the morning breakfast and newspaper. WiFi wasn't working on either of our laptops, and the two office ladies had no clue or offered any solutions.
With so much to see and do in Fredericksburg Texas, we stayed here 3 nights. This is a jewell of a park located in the town area with very easy access. Hookups are well located, power and water service were both very good. Level parking on gravel and plenty of room for slideouts and maneuvering. This is one park we will place on our keepers list. We (I) locked ourselves out of the RV and access to our cell phones, credit cards and roadservice card, DUH! The two ladies in the office went out of their way to help us with our problem. For that we can't thank them enough.
We were greeted by a couple of smiling faces upon arrival. Checking in was easy and the escort to our site, was appreciated. Over nighters are parked in specific sites and ours was gravel and very wet from relentless rain. The utility hookups were easy to access and no troubles noted. WiFi worked very well. The park appears to be popular for longer stays as it is near a large metro area. We would stay here again.
We stayed here in February for one night. It was cold to freezing out during the night. The park was very nice and very adequate for our needs. The office person made us feel very welcome. I would have rated it higher but in the early morning of our departure the owner showed up as he had noticed that I had a small coolant leak, (less that a cup) on the parking pad just under the engine which was soiling his ice covered cement pad. This was totally unknown to us as we have a new motor home. His attitude and demeanor let me know he was not happy about it. He showed no concerned weather I had a mechanical problem but that his concern was for the cement pad and for his grass (looked to be in hibernation) would be ruined forever. We felt his silent pressure to get out of his park. If you stay there be sure you are not leaking anything or else you will get the cold shoulder treatment. We will not be returning on our next trip.
This is a nice quiet place, north of town. Spaces are all roomy and mostly level. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Good satellite access at every space. It's close to Amistad lake and town. We enjoyed the Wednesday breakfast (donation) and they have a Sunday potluck. Facilities are all new and very clean and functional. Viewing the other RV parks in area, we would definitely stay here again.
This is a popular park and reservations are suggested. We enjoyed this park very much. Didn't partake in all that they offered but did appreciate the large camp spaces in the annex area and the courtesy of all staff we came in contact with. This certainly makes up for the experience we had at Palm Shadows RV park in same city.
