Decent campground clean showers and restrooms. Indoor pool and hot tub that were clean. The grounds are mostly gravel with a few trees. Right off the main road, but it didn't bother us. We would stay here again. Not high end, but decent.
This park was adequate. The spaces are a little small and close together. We enjoyed the Hot Tub. The park was quiet. The only problem is that children aren't allowed in the hot tub, but it had 4 kids in it with adults. When we mentioned that they weren't allowed the parents didn't care. Not much room for us to enjoy the hot tub. The restrooms were adequate - nothing fancy.
We felt very safe and comfortable here. It was well maintained. The pool was small, but we enjoyed the Hot tub. Be careful driving down the road. It is very dippy. The road is the drainage system. You drive thru a high end industrial park to get to the camp ground. Yes, they do have some RV's parked on the side of the road. They probably belong to some of the people who live in the actual apartments above the office. A lot of people had high end stuff just outside. Yes, the highway is close and the train is right next to the camp ground, but if you want to camp in the city then this is what you get. We did not find any of the noise disturbing. It did not wake us up. We would camp here again.
We lost $50 because we paid before looking. They do not give refunds at all. We should have looked before paying. I felt very uncomfortable, so we drove around and found another campground that was a 1000% nicer. Shady Oaks is very shady with a lot of permanent dwellers that have very run down campers and mobile homes. The bathrooms are dirty and run down. They have a lot of stray dogs running around. The owners are very old, and I guess they just can not handle it anymore. Would not stay here.
Friendly staff. Great RV park. Really nice and clean restroom/shower rooms that are private. Pool and hot tub are well maintained and clean. Lake on property. Would highly recommend. Just sorry we were only passing through and only stayed overnight. Would stay here again if in the area. Rate is a Passport America rate.
Expensive for what we got. They say they have Wi-Fi but clerk warned us that it was picky, but we couldn't use it at all. Not on laptop, iPad, or phone. No Sprint Internet service either. No cable TV, antenna only got about 3 stations. Heated pool was cold and they say they only heat to 70 degrees in cool weather; that is not heated to me. We couldn't dump our sewage before leaving because they say it's locked and doesn't open until 9 AM and we left at 7 AM. If you are camping and plan on being at the campground during the day be warned that the bathrooms are closed between noon and 2 PM for cleaning, It says easy on and off to campground, long windy narrow road to get to KOA. Big rigs be very careful-- narrow tree lined road. Not the best KOA I have stayed at and if I was in the area again I, would not stay here again, The front desk clerk was not helpful when I told him that the pool was cold, and that we were not happy. We couldn't talk to anyone this morning because they weren't open yet, The only reason we chose this campground was the heated pool after traveling for a month I wanted to enjoy some pool time, but that didn't happen, the pool was really cold. Showers took a long time to get hot water too.
We enjoyed our 1 night stay. We had full hookups under trees, and if you want to be by the Lake then it is electric only and gravel. Very quiet and clean. They are also a wild animal rescue sanctioned by the Forrestery Service. They have catch and release fishing. Paddle boats available but must have own life jackets. Manager always on property. Gated entrance must call for Gate Code. Very friendly staff. We would go back again if we are in the area. Can not use street address on Garmin but can use Arlan address.
