My kids' favorite campground. Tons to do here, very busy and lots of kids. There isn't much in the surrounding area, but you don't need to leave. The main road in front of the general store can get quite busy. It would have received 10 stars if it wasn't directly on the expressway. They even have some premium sites that back up to the expressway. It was a bit of a bummer to have such a great vacation, but hear the road noise whenever we sat outside.
Excellent family campground. It would have received 10 stars if it wasn't 30 minutes from the entrance to the Smokies. The campground is crushed gravel which seemed odd until a couple of days into our week long stay and I realized that our camper was the cleanest it had ever been, no dirt, no sand. Fantastic. The stream side site was wonderful. Owners were very friendly and helpful, gave us a menu when we wanted to order out pizza. The playground is great and with the campground being on the small side, it was easy to get to the laundry room (which had plenty of washers/dryers). They do advertise that you can hike into the Smokies from the campground, but this is quite misleading; it isn't as easy as it seems and is nearly impossible for anyone under age 10 because the bridge is out and you have to rock hop.
Typical KOA with small sites. We did have enough room to use the fire pit, but we had to move our TT after initial set up because we realized our slide was on top of our neighbor's fire pit. Lots of road noise. The "lake side" sites are really just over looking the retention pond.
This campground is perfect for retired people who are sightseeing during the day. It is not a family park. The sites are so small that you can't put your chair next to the fire pit, you have to actually sit in the drive and your neighbor's drive. I saw one large class A that could not open both the slide and the awning without touching tress or neighbors. There was not a single person outside after 9 PM and no children in the park at all. The playground had 1 set of old outdated swings. The bathrooms were the cleanest I had encountered in 5 states of driving. We did not use Wi-Fi or cable so cannot comment on how well it worked. We had to pay extra for each child, which seemed odd considering that they had nothing in the way of amenities for children.
