We camped in the family camping area. We were their "test run" to see if they could fit three travel trailers in this tiny area. Obviously we didn't know this. The main area for campers appeared to be all seasonal rentals. For weekend camping, there were few options. We did not have a 50 amp hookup as promised. Between the three trailers there we constantly blew fuses with all of us having A/C running. We almost left immediately but the campers next to us encouraged us to stick together and tough this one out. Which is exactly what we did. Across from our site in the family camp area was a poorly capped septic sewer. The smell was unbearable, we never got used to it. Which means if we were at our site, we were inside with the windows closed. The owners were nice enough but they did complain which makes for an uncomfortable feeling. There were garbage bags piled three high all the way down to our sites along the owners garage. The pictures look nice on the site but it's not as nice when you get there. The bathrooms were OK but certainly nothing great. We will not return to this campground.
The greatest campground for families and those with pets. We had a site on the lake. It was narrow but beautiful. The concrete pads for the picnic tables were a nice addition. The bathrooms/showers were maintained several times a day and were spotless. The dog wash and dog park were great - we have two large dogs so it was like a vacation for them too! They have everything you would ever need and more in the store. The owners are welcoming as are the other campers. It was quiet at night. There is more than enough for kids to do and it is geared towards family activities. The pool also has water slides, which their web site does not show. Absolutely fantastic place to visit.
This was a nice enough place. More than likely if you are staying here you don't intend to stay at the campground all day as there is so much to do in Taylors Falls. The sites were alright. There are many of them packed closely together like sardines. For campers there is not much shade in the pull-thru's. The pool is too small for this large of a campground. Plus the pool and campground are far away from all of the sites. The mini golf course is a joke. We planned on playing that while we stayed but decided it would be worth a couple bucks and go play at the nice place in town. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Taylors Falls planning to do stuff during the day. If you're a family planning on staying there, then you may be disappointed.
A gorgeous campground! Absolutely loved it. Very clean, the grounds are beautiful. The views are spectacular. The bathrooms are neat and clean. The pool and playgrounds are the absolutely great. We loved this place and we know others do to because it's hard to get a reservation! We were concerned since it was a tubing place that there would be partying and drinking. There wasn't any. It was just families young and old having a great time. The campground staff are always going around making sure the sites are clean and that camping rules are enforced. We would recommend this place to anyone, you won't be disappointed.
This is a very nice place to camp. The sites are generous in size. The grounds are clean and well cared for. The bathrooms are spotless and are some of the nicest. There is even music playing overhead. The caretakers are wonderful, they are very nice and helpful. The pool is new this year. It is a bit small but overall nice. They have a beach area but for swimming use the pool. The beach is never used so it's a nice place to get away and make some sandcastles. Fishing is great as well. Our only complaint is that although pets are allowed, the rules are not enforced. We camped with our two dogs but had to deal with multiple dogs barking all day and night as well as dogs off leash running everywhere. There is a sign that no dogs are allowed in the park however it was never enforced. I did not like our kids playing around some of the dogs who seemed too wild. Also, there were young children left unattended at the pool. Not the campgrounds fault but a disappointment. The themed activities are great as well. Overall a nice place to try.
We read many of the reviews the day that we left. Wasn't sure what to expect. Having stayed only one night we can say the negative reviews are more than accurate. The campground is filthy. The sites are nothing but sand. Mud for us since it rained the entire evening. I thought we could tolerate the sandy conditions, but even die hard like us could not stand it for more than one night. There is no game room as advertised. Also, the petting zoo is a long walk for most campers and is nothing special. A couple wandering goats, a llama and a donkey are what we saw. The beach was disgusting. There were cigarette butts and litter all over. The seasonal crowd wasn't the most welcoming. They complained loudly about "weekenders" coming in. There also was excessive swearing and drinking at the beach. After 45 minutes I decided it was not the best place for our young children to be. I even felt uncomfortable. At night, it was noisy with loud campers and dogs barking constantly. The first thing we did the next morning was pack up and leave. I do not suggest this campground, especially to those with young children.
