I wish I could come up with something other to say about the park that hasn't been said, but it was absolutely perfect. We loved it. It's our favorite campground ever. It was busy, but that was to be expected. We loved the pool area and the Chip and Dale's campfire.
Wonderful park! We stayed here in April, before the water was turned on, so we got a 50% discount. We stayed on one of the Deluxe Sites that included a brick patio, porch swing, and a BBQ grill. We really enjoyed this park. The only downfall was the hilly, gravel roads made bike riding difficult. Other than that, we couldn't ask for more!
Beautiful scenery, quiet park. We stayed there for the weekend. There are pit toilets and no running water in the park (that we could find). This made it very inconvenient for us, even though we were self contained. Sights were TINY (our awning touched our neighbor's camper--luckily, it was our family), and everything was muddy. Bugs were worse than any other place we have camped. This was a nice place but I doubt we'll camp here again since they don't have restrooms--our camper tanks were full by Saturday evening with a family of four.
This campground is perfect. It has every amenity, is spotless clean. Family owned. It was not busy when we stayed. We thought the sites were large and grassy. Cable TV was a great surprise! I seldom give a "10" rating, but this campground deserves it.
Very clean and nice park. It has all of the amenities mentioned. However, the pool is TINY. We didn't even attempt to swim there as it was so small and always crowded when we looked. It was very hard to hook up our camper as the hookups were so far away and because the sites were so small. We were told we could have a tent on our site (for an extra $10 fee), but there was nowhere to put it. The only grass on our site was a strip that was 2 feet wide by 5 feet long. I would have given this campground a 10 if the pool were nicer and the hook ups were easier. On a positive note, the playground is awesome and easily accessible. My 7 and 9 year olds loved it. I would recommend this campground.
This park is a great value for the money. The city has decided to cut down on the "full time" rentals, which has opened up a lot of sites for people who want to vacation there short term. We stayed for five days and had a great time. Everything was clean and nice. I would give it a 10 if it offered a pool and WiFi. There is a lot to do in the area.
We stayed here for two weeks. The campground was full, we just happened upon a cancellation. To be honest, we were a little uncertain about the place because there were a lot of full-timers here, but by the end of our stay, we found them to be very nice and welcoming. They had a nice playground for the kids (a must for us), a very nice lake to walk around/fish, and a small laundromat (it was always in use it seemed). Very clean place, nice managers. It's actually a city park. Managers live in mobile home on site. Records were via a notebook kept by the manager (no fancy computer reservation). I would recommend IF you can "luck" into one of the few available sites.
We were very pleased with this park. Yes, the road to get to and from the park is curvy, and it is a way off the beaten path, so I suggest going to the grocery store in Huntington on your way to the campground so that you won't have to leave again. No cell phone service. Other than that, it was clean and nice, with friendly park rangers. We will definitely be camping here again when we visit family in the area.
This was an extremely clean park. The care and maintenance here is amazing. Trash is picked up from your site numerous times a day, grass is mowed daily, and landscaping is nice. Other than the clean atmosphere, the customer service is the other great thing. Upon arriving, friendly staff greeted me, and I was escorted to my site by a nice man on a golf cart, who made sure we got set up okay. There are many planned activities for kids and adults, especially on the weekend. Nice restaurant there, as well as a little store. Pool was well maintained, as was the hottub. Lakes were nice for fishing, we caught many fish. The only thing we did not like was that we had to pay $5 extra a night per kid. So we paid $10 a night more than what was the listed price. That is the only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. But is is still worth the extra money. Without a doubt, the nicest campground I have ever stayed at in Ohio.
This place is our home away from home, literally. We have a camper that stays there year round, and we vacation there 4-5 times a year. I have two small children, and we are willing to drive the 12 hour drive for every long weekend and school vacation because of the park. Clean, quality amenities, friendly people, and tons to do is what keeps us coming back. Playgrounds, children's activities, gated community, and awesome swimming highlight this park. I would recommend it 100% to anyone. The only bad thing I can think to tell is that it can get crowded in the summer. If you are there peak season, you will need a golf cart.
This park has both extremes, from really good to bad. First, the good. The Aquatic Center is awesome. Pool, splash zone, slides, etc. Definitely worth the money. There is plenty to do within walking distance, including a golf course, walking trails, shopping, entertainment, playgrounds, etc. This is a fun place. However, the worst part (other than lack of hookups) is the restrooms. I hated taking my kids in there. Now, they were not the worst I have ever seen. I would rate the restrooms a 3. We live only about 10 miles away, so we would go home to take a shower. Even with the restroom situation, I still recommend camping here, especially if you are in a travel trailer or RV and have your own facilities.
