Nice level sites with good privacy between neighbors. Nicely maintained park. Very quiet and peaceful, especially at night. Fun playgrounds and nice paved roads for bike riding. Electric only.

We really like this park for several reasons. The beach is nice and a short walk away, there is great fishing on the inlet and the beach, the roads throughout the campground are paved and good for bike riding, and there is full hook-ups. We have also camped at another local place with water hook-ups only. It also was very nice as well with great bike riding and beach access. There is fun stuff to do with the family. The staff is really helpful and recommended good crabbing and fishing spots elsewhere in the area. The bridge is awesome at night! We'll definitely be back!

Pricey! We paid $100 per night for our family of 5-nice sized corner site: 109 W/S/E, but overgrown grass around the fire ring, several cigarette butts and piles of decomposing leaves around the edges quickly spoiled the pleasant appeal. We also encountered snakes and tons of mosquitoes at our site. The pools and lake were really great. Would consider a swim membership next season and possibly camping again for a few nights at the lake front sites. The campground was clean and atmosphere was family-friendly. The cost brings our rating down to a 7: c'mon! $1.95 for a generic ice cream sandwich and $4.85 for nachos?! The search continues for a "10" in NJ.

Great State Park! Amazing trails (Beach Trail, Big Meadow Trail, Fossil Beach, Big Meadow, Rock Spring Pond) very well maintained sites (we stayed at 28 AE W/E), fun family activities for families (eagle walk, fossil hike, shark tooth necklace making), friendly camp hosts and park staff as well as fellow campers, awesome soaring Bald Eagles filled the sky each day we were there - can't wait to go back!

We stayed in the full hook-up area. Very nice loop, nicely maintained sites. Smooth pavement great for kids to ride bikes. Explored park on bike, nice sites throughout. Fun kids programs. Ticks were bad.

We stayed at a corner site that was level, and nice size. It had a good amount of privacy with densely wooded areas on all sides (view at back of site through sparse vegetation: well maintained seasonal site and transient tent/pop-up sites, to the left through thicker vegetation; transient site), directly in front of site playground and rally field. Site was fine stone, campground roads/walking paths rocky terrain (watch out for random ankle breaker sized rocks). Site was nicely wooded with large mature trees that offered shade throughout the day. Nice pool with clean bathrooms and hot showers just a short walk away. Good high efficiency washer and dryer. Mostly seasonals here. No Wi-Fi or Sewer, pump-out service Mondays and Fridays, $3 extra per day for air conditioner and a few extra random charges. No recycling containers-carry out cans/bottles/paper. Staff were somewhat helpful. Seasonal sites hit or miss-a lot of older/ weathered RVs.. Be sure to follow campsite directions, roads in the area are very curvy and narrow. Close drive to nice state parks.

We stayed at site 279, nicely wooded and private. Large mature shade trees and gravel site. Short walk to laundry, bathhouse and pool. A lot of fun activities for kids, great staff. Camp store offered breakfast sandwiches and a great assortment. Sweet cart was a special treat. The transient sites on the hill were wooded, spacious and private. Free mini golf. Kids fun zone was supervised and safe.
