This was our second visit to Anvil, and we loved it as much as the first time. The sites are close, but adequate. There is a nice tree canopy over most of the campgrounds, and the staff is the friendliest you will ever meet. Everything is clean and well cared for. The pool is small, but so is the campground, so it is never too crowded, and we all have a great time meeting new friends here. It is located close to everything going on in the area, so there is noise from the major roadways. There is also a freight train that runs right along the campground a few times a day. This doesn't bother us, and will not deter us from returning again!

This park has a lot going for it and could be a premier resort with a little "TLC." There is decent tree coverage in some of the areas, and there is so much to do here rain or shine! Loved the indoor pool, hot tub, and water playground. The mini-golf is also under a roof, which was nice in rainy weather, however it is in desperate need of maintenance. The game room is large, and there is an equipment room to check out games and sporting equipment, which was great. But the sites are very, very close (no room between them at all) and need to be leveled. We saw some units with multiple cinder blocks under just one or two jacks to level up! You have to drive around and choose your own site, and they won't guarantee that you'll find 3-point hook up, even if that's what you requested when you reserved. Some of the roads are difficult for maneuvering a larger trailer (29'), and we couldn't make the turn around on one turnaround and damaged our awning in the trees. We would not have gone there if the camp map had indicated that the road before that, where we wanted to turn, was one way in the opposite direction. Now we know better, and we will stay here one more time since we purchased a season pass for this year, but we will not renew or go back once our pass expires. Putting this in the category of "you get what you pay for."

We stayed here for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites were small and close, but adequate, fairly level, and nicely shaded. Getting in and out was easy. Every thing was clean and well maintained. The pool was small, but so is the campgrounds, so it was never too crowded. The location was GREAT since it's close to all the local attractions. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Busch Gardens and Williamsburg. I would have given it a higher rating if the sites were larger, there were planned activities, and the playgrounds included a little more than standard backyard equipment. But really, in this area, there's so much to do that we didn't really miss those things and wouldn't have used them if they were there. Kids can't wait to go back!

Just stayed here for the first time and will probably be going back. Love, love love that this campgrounds is right in the middle of everything happening in Lancaster County! The place was immaculate! Lovely landscaping all around the grounds, even around the available sites. Fairly level gravel pads are here for the trailer and table. Fire rings were in the grass. Some areas are more wooded than others. We were in a kind of open spot, but there was still nice shade most of the time. The playground isn't very big, but my kids still had fun here and always wanted to go. The pool was closed during this stay, but there is an indoor one we could have driven to and used since we were camping here. They didn't have any planned activities or anything, but you don't really need that when staying in this area. Great place to stay!

This is a great place to park your trailer without any frills. It's a small, wooded park with adequate sized sites. Since there isn't a pool or playground or anything that would typically draw families, it's pretty quiet and peaceful. Staff was nice as were our camping neighbors. Would stay here again with just my spouse to enjoy Lancaster County. Would not go here with our kids.

We LOVE this place! We stayed in July, and we are going back in August. Hope to become regulars here. The staff is very, very friendly, warm and welcoming. They seem to know who is around and what's going on, too, without being obtrusive. The pools are great. The playground is HUGE and really, really nice! The camp store is big and has things you'd typically expect to find as well as some fun and quirky shirts and other items. The site we stayed in was an adequate size. All the sites are nice and shady. The sand roads are a little hard to ride bikes on, but we still did. Just walked it in the couple spots the sand was too soft. Wish the sewer sites were closer to all the facilities.

Overall, this was a nice place, and I would go back again. Staff was friendly enough as were seasonal campers. Activities were fun and very well attended, making it seem like a real community. Our creek site was very small-- adequate for two of us, but would have been tight if we brought our whole family. Sites in other areas were larger. LOVED the wooded setting. Bathrooms were nice with hot water, fresh paint, bright, and very clean at the start of the holiday weekend, but they were not cleaned frequently enough and were filthy by the end of the weekend with only 2 out of 4 women's toilets useable for the last 24 hours of our trip. Soap dispensers in the ladies room were never filled. Men's room had soap in 1 dispenser and none in the other for the entire weekend.
