Made reservations in February for 2 RVs. Requested side-by-side sites. Arrived at 4:30PM and was sent to a MUD HOLE representing itself as a camp site with hookups. Went back and the uncooperative lady at the desk did find me another site that was better, but would not allow my traveling partner the EMPTY site next to mine. Sent him to another "standing water" site. The empty site next to mine was EMPTY all night! Lady did offer to refund my money if I would leave. I have contacted KOA corporate who replied and contacted the VA Beach KOA: they would not and have not replied. I would stay in a parking lot before staying at this KOA. KOA has been my preference for years. Other than that, this VA Beach KOA did have nice amenities for families and all the hookups worked fine.
Arrived late and used self check-in. Campground is primarily a snow bird location but they reserve 30 sites for over nighters. This was our second stay. Stayed here first in 2004. Wife needeed laundry facilities but they were secured by keycode. Would stay again as it is off the Interstate a couple of miles and very quiet.
Very friendly owners and staff. Sites seemed quite close to each other. Campground was full. Very quiet. Just far enough south of the main drag in Branson. Nice reasonably priced breakfast on-site in large meeting building. Pancakes all you can eat $1.99!! Will stay there again.
We were looking for a "close to home" weekend getaway. The park is clean and above all things, was very quiet. The park is located on the south side of Grove, Oklahoma. The City swimming pool is located inside the park, but was never a problem. Grand Lake has large areas of open water and is frequented by big boats. The ranger came to our site to collect the money. They were looking for a camp host. Lot's of squirrels. A great place for a family reunion.
We were dead tired when we HAD to find a place to stop. We should have just gone and found a Wal-Mart parking lot. Showers were in back of the restaurant that was on the premises. No shower doors and nasty. Toilets had not been cleaned since 9/11/2001. Restaurant was not the cleanest I have been in either. Electric, water, and sewer all functioned well enough. Grass was mowed. The dirt road had water filled potholes that could have had a VW Beetle hidden in them. We camped in a Lance truck camper that did not have a shower. When we got back home, the wife made me immediately upgrade to a Lance camper WITH a shower! We will wave when we go by Texola - never to stop again.
Nice campground with friendly enough staff. Arrived after dark and was greeted by host sitting outside enjoying the evening. Was directed to pull-thru site by one of the hosts. Would definitely stay here again. Only issue was the dusty road getting in and out of the campground - and I have seen worse. I was pulling an open trailer with a motorcycle that got very dusty. When the dew settled, I had moist dust! Was quiet, peaceful, and dark.
