Our little 25' fifth wheel barely made it into its assigned space, but with jockeying and patience, we made it. If your not good with back in sites, try to get a pull thru although even those are tight. Rate was PA. Right in the middle of Custer, it's convenient, no-frills and perfect for our one-night stand. Could use a little TLC but it's a tourist town and we here to see the sights, not hang out in the park. WiFi was excellent.
This is a great campground. Everything you need but a pool. Sure, some of the sites are a little tight for a 40' RV, but there are many other sites that can easily accommodate big rigs. The trick is (and this applies to any RV park) to call ahead and make sure they can park you. The owners are the friendliest ever and even helped us park our rig, a nice touch. Lots of shade for hot summer days. Close to town and the mineral pools. Don't forget to visit the Wyoming Whiskey bourbon distillery 12 miles north of town.
Park is great! Roomy sites, great facilities including pool/hot tub. Friendly staff and FAST check in. Rate is Passport. Wi-Fi a little weak. Laundry very reasonable. Some road noise from I-40 but to be expected with park along a frontage road. Lots of Highway 66 themes going on. Propane available on site. Camping World next store, a DEFINITE plus. If you stay here and don't rate it 8 or better, you'll never be happy with any park.
Great little park especially for overnighting. Friendly check-in and fast. Sites are roomy and very level. Facilities are very well maintained, lots of grass between sites. Wi-Fi good, no pool, some road noise but not an interstate. Rate is passport. Wish more parks were run like this one. You won't be disappointed unless you like your parks a mile from anyting that moves on a highway.
Passport rate. 7 rating due to LOTS of full timers living here in rigs that are well past their prime. Makes the place look seedy. Gravel site with ample room. Unfortunately, it rained overnight and the site turned into a mud pit. CLOSE to downtown and convenient for mountain attractions. Be sure to eat at Sheldon's Luncheonette in the strip mall below the park. There are LOTS of other choices close by - just drive towards Pike's Peak.
Great campground especially for watching the steam powered train! Ample site size - we had water & electric (dump site easy to access and use). Convenient to Durango. Not right on the highway which is elevated and helps deflect road noise. Park is very well maintained - pride of ownership shows. Would recommend for any length stay!! You won't be disappointed.
Fast, friendly check-in. Got a full hookup at a long pull through site with the Passport rate. Only RV park I've seen with satellite dishes at each site. Clean, modern laundry with very reasonable costs. Some road noise but it died down as night progressed. Would stay here again.
Top notch campground in the Bristol, TN area. Newer park, well-maintained with nice amenities. Sites are a little close together but everything else is so well-done, who cares? Passport America rate of only $21 for a full hook-up. Choice of sites was up to us, a nice perk. Restrooms/showers were spotless!! Some of the best seen to-date. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.
This campground is located on the trail head of the Virginia Creeper (rails-to-trails) near the top of the mountain (3500'+ elev.). Getting there challenged our GPS as we ended up missing a critical turn and found ourselves towing our fifth wheel up a gravel, one-lane road across the ridge. Without 4-wheel drive we would not have made it. If the GPS liked us, we would have been on paved road all the way to the campground. The campground is rustic in nature and our site was on a newly cut of mountain. It overlooked the office. Check in and VERY friendly and easy - the owner is a nice, older guy. Our site was a pull through with water and electricity (thought it was 30 amp but the breakers were only 20 amps). Water pressure was low but of good quality. The site stills needs a 'finish' grade to get it more level (needed a LOT of planks to get the fiver level). It hadn't been mowed in some time making our site more of a field. The view was very nice. We were one of two campers in the whole place. So the night was very quiet and the stars were out in full force. Used the fire ring for S'mores. Leaving the next day, the exit road was very rutty and it was a slow go. Overall, this campground is perfectly placed for Virginia Creeping. It's not really close to anything else, so pack in whatever you need. The campground need some TLC and grooming but it will do for a night. Little pricey at $35.00/nite but there's no close competition so c'est la vie.
Driving into the park was over a rutted gravel road. The park is laid out in concentric circles so keeping a rig on the road and away from trees requires full attention. The sites are somewhat level but make sure you have lots of leveling planks/blocks. The park was in need of some TLC - looked ragged and well used. Our 34' fiver would not fit the assigned lot especially our slides. In the middle of vacation season in northern MI, only a few sites were occupied, mostly appearing to be full-timers. That was the straw that broke us - rather than attempt to shoehorn our rig into a tight sight, we bailed. The counter man was quite willing to see us go and wished us luck in finding a campground (we did - east about 15 miles). So if rustic camping is for you and your rig, this might be the place, especially considering their cheap rental rates (even cheaper if you are a Passport America member). But if you prefer well maintained, spacious camping, IMHO, you might want to keep on driving to another campground.
This is a GREAT RV park! The lots are spacious, the facilities are well maintained. The staff is friendly and responsive. The layout provides privacy or openness, your choice. Full hook ups or W/E-only are again, your choice. The beach is great for swimming, boating, fishing or just sitting and watching. Camp Store available for RV stuff you need or forgot. Propane refills are cheap. Can't imagine anyone who camps here not being completely satisfied.
