This is a quiet, comfortable campground with clean facilities. You are somewhat isolated in a beautiful mountain area. You can sit here and enjoy the beauty and peaceful surroundings while camping which is a AAA+ for me. A great camping place.
For me this was the worst camping experience of any campground I've every stayed. They stack you on top of each other virtually. The park was overly full. We were next some friendly people but with very little room between us. Another camper came in next to us and a staff member told me that I'd have to move my picnic table as it was on his site. I promptly told him I didn't place it there in the first place. We were in a tent camper and already cramped to start off with. It was more like a huge party of sorts for people here, and the restrooms were so inaccessible due to having to walk between camping cabins from the road. The other access was to drive around to the other side, and then there was no where to park much less turn around. There were so many people milling around that I had to be very careful as to not hit someone. A very unpleasant camping experience for me.
We stayed here here for the first time in Cody, where as we have stayed in two other CG's in prior visits. Overall, this is a pretty nice park. The sites are pretty much shaded but they are somewhat close. It was pretty quiet and the staff was friendly and were accommodating if any problem arose. We stayed 3 nights here and other campers even though close, were all very friendly. We enjoyed our stay here while enjoying the Cody Experience. I would and will stay here again. The only real drawback is the Wi-Fi. You may have to move to the rec room to get it and you may not get it there either as I found out trying to get a fellow camper online.
I gave this campground an excellent rating. The restrooms were clean and nice, the campground is small but on the pass it is scenic, cool at night and the staff is very friendly. It is a comfortable place to stop and get a relaxing rest while traveling this great nation of ours. While here, the hummingbirds were everywhere. They were looking for food and kept approaching my wife's red hanky. We took a large bottle cap and made some sugar water and placed it on our bumper with the red hanky heaped over the cap. The birds studied it for a bit then went to feeding with us 4 foot away taking pictures. I guess that was our entertainment for the evening. People were very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with other campers here. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff seem to make every effort to make your stay a good one. I commend them.
This was about the 4th time camping here. The place has changed over the years. I used to stay behind the office in a nice fenced area which was pretty quaint. This is now filled with permanent people and you are stuck out in front of the office area in a graveled lot. In a tent trailer the sun is murder with the little shade available in most of this lot. The staff was friendly and the area was clean. I was disappointed this trip of the changes they have made at this KOA.
