We come here several times a year and we have seen an impressive array of upgrades. The steam room is a real joy. Bathrooms/showers are always kept clean. They have a game room with billiard table as well. The only complaint I have is that most RV camps provide repeat customer incentives in the way of free weekends after so many paid. There is no loyalty program for those who consistently return.
This is the first KOA that we have stayed in that really wasn’t impressive. Sites are really close together although they did have 50amp service. The pool and hot tub were closed but there was no discount in rates because of it. Playground was just ok. Many of the spaces, about 30, have been turned in to RV storage which detracted from the camp esthetics. Mini golf course was clean and seemed to be kept in good condition; the turf looked to be recently replaced. However the $3.00 per person, per game seemed pricy to me. Petting barn was a couple of goats in a pen which you wouldn’t want to pet. The fishing pond was not well kept and did not encourage fishing. Also, they restricted fishing to start at 9:00 am which any fisherman knows is too late!! Camp fires were not allowed and you were restricted to using BBQ’s only. There were group fire rings but they were all located in the “RV storage” spaces too far from most of the usable sites. I can’t comment on the restrooms because I never used them although the wife said they were clean. Sewer system is on a septic tank and we were warned not to dump unless absolutely necessary because they were at the maximum capacity. Strange given we stayed during the winter season and the camp was only at 50% capacity. The price was excessive for this campground. I won't be returning to this KOA.
This campground has spectacular landscapes nestled between giant redwoods. Spaces are fairly level and most have small trees and brush between them for better privacy. The sites have newer utilities including 50amp service and the grounds are constantly being groomed. The general store literally was closed the entire time we were there; I believe it was going through restorations. Restrooms were old and in need of a face lift. Showers were in the same condition. The laundry was clean and well maintained although there were few campers to dirty thing up. Swimming pool was not maintained at all. Unless you are a river-rat or want to fish there is nothing for activities. However the peaceful ambiance of the campground and the uniquely friendly management made this a welcome stay.
This campground has spectacular landscapes nestled between giant redwoods. Spaces are fairly level and most have small trees and brush between them for better privacy. The sites have newer utilities including 50amp service and the grounds are constantly being groomed. The office is not very well stocked and severely lacks the basic necessities, which is the reason for not receiving a 10 in this reviewer eyes. Restrooms and showers are very well maintained; some of the best we’ve seen and the laundry is clean and well maintained although in busier times of the year the laundry room may be small. The quaint cabins are beautiful and add to the campground magnetism although they are basically a single room with no bathroom. Evening strolls were perfect even though the stormy weather didn’t play well.
We’ve stayed here about a dozen times in the last couple of years and have always enjoyed our stay. Spaces are on dirt but most are fairly level. Spaces come with concrete slab with picnic tables, some sites are 50 amp and other only 30, but they are well marked as to which have 50amp service. The hot springs are very nice and well kept. The pool is also very nice and is naturally heated by the hot springs although not nearly as warm as the hot springs. Bathrooms and showers are clean. There is a nice Sauna but no steam room which is disappointing given the natural access to thermally heated water. The park is beautifully landscaped with large palm trees and a pond with fish and other wildlife. There is also a large grassy picnic area with BBQ pit. This is a family orientated park but weekdays are not nearly as busy as the weekends due to daytrip visitors, so if you’re looking for quiet time, stay during the week. Disappointments: They accept no discount of any kind including AAA or FMCA and regular visitors do not get free nights stays. Cable TV is significantly lacking in channel options and quality. They should invest in better cable which is why they didn't get a 10
Excellent park with plenty of shaded sites. Only some of the sites had cable TV which is what kept this park from getting a perfect 10. Camp sites were kept very clean and the entire camp was peaceful and tranquil. Bathrooms and showers were very nice and cleaned daily. I would recommend this camp without concern.
Parking slabs were cracked and uneven. Very dry and dusty. Pool tables in the game room were not level and out of shape. The Mini golf was in need of repair. We never used the pool because it was not appealing. The office/store was only good for Ice cream and that was about the full extent of the service. We are not interested in going back.
I agree it is a strange park, but we loved it. Half of the place is mobile homes and the other half is an RV resort. There are 4 natural mineral pools and a large swimming pool that is also heated by the natural hot springs. There is a sauna which is seldom used but in great shape. There are showers in the bathroom areas that can be used if you prefer not to use yours in the RV. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. They have a small store with most of what you could need. The entrance to the pools is carefully watched to make sure you are staying at the camp. They do this by requiring a wristband to enter the pool area. The pool areas can get quite busy with children so keep that in mind. We will definitely go back again.
We found this park to be very tranquil and enjoyed it immensely however there were some items that were bothersome. First as other have said the cable TV was non existent and if you didn’t have satellite you were out of luck. The next thing was the watering of the lawns, it’s done in the middle of the day when you are relaxing on the grass with friends! Not to mention watering down the sides of your RV everyday…. We expected a smoke filled casino but not a dirty pool. The pool was full of bugs and dirt? or bird droppings. Not once in the 5 days we were there did someone vacuum or sweep the pool. The food in the casino was very good and so inexpensive it was cheaper to eat at the casino then make meals in the RV. Nevertheless when it was time to leave we were sorry to go. It was a very nice place all around and is somewhere we will return to.
