As I have previously stated, I am a GA state park fan. We have about 10 more to stay at and will have camped at all. This was one of my favs! We enjoyed hiking down to the waterfall which even my mother was able to do. We were here in June with temps in the 90's everywhere we had been, however, it was in the 50's the morning we woke up at this park. It was awesome! The fantastic cable TV lineup was an additional bonus. Also, the Dillard House is close by and fabulous! I highly recommend this campground!
I am a big GA state park fan and am working my way around to all parks. We have about 10 left. Tugaloo was a nice park but extremely crowded. It caters more to tents and popups than to larger motorhomes. Most sites had cars sticking out all over the roadway and had large groups camping together. The lake is beautiful and the CG host was very friendly. After parking and getting hooked up, he and his wife drove up on their golf cart and suggested a site with a better view (right next to them). We took them up on it and moved. Overall I enjoyed this park but prefer some of the quieter GA state parks.
I am a GA state park fan! I have camped at over 30 and hope to eventually stay at all. This was a beautiful campground with sites right on the water. This CG is very secluded so you need to have your all of your supplies with you upon arrival. Evidently this is one of only two state parks which allows specific sites to be reserved. We were here during the week, so not a problem but noticed most sites were already reserved for the weekend. The only downside was there were only a couple of TV stations available by antenna.
We were camping with a friend who was in their 40 ft. diesel. The first three days were great so we decided to stay an extra night. As others have pointed out, there are evidently two different options for securing reservations here. Originally we had reservations through a very nice couple. They greeted us, checked on us, and made sure our stay was great. When we asked for an additional day, they did not have any availability so we went to the "office." We have a brand new $100,000+ 25.5" Fleetwood Pulse with a diesel Mercedes Engine that we had just "downsized" to. The lady was so rude and informed us that our motorhome was too short for their standards. She was extremely condescending and offered up no apologies. We were treated like trailer-trash! I have never been so embarrassed. Although this resort is beautiful, I will never stay here again.
