We stayed on site 72 which had a very slow flowing stream and made for a very buggy week. The campground was very quiet and appeared to be at about 30% capacity. The kids enjoyed the pool and playground areas. We would have liked to see more planned activities for the children but that may have been due to the time of year we visited.
We have camped here two times this year, once in June and again in July. We love this place, it is 30 minutes from home which makes it ideal for quick weekend getaways. They have a moderate sized pool with a newly renovated playground and lots of activities for the children. Staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The campground is on Lake Contacook which is good for fishing and the boat rentals they have to offer. Most sites are wooded and spacious, our favorite sites are #21 and 22.
Moose Hillock is everything we love about camping, private wooded sites, activities for the children, endless local attractions and a swimming pool the children won't soon forget. The only complaint we had was the speed in which people and staff travel through the campground makes it very dangerous for the children riding bikes. We stayed in site 35, it was very close to the pool and the front gate which may have been part of the reason for the excessive speed.
