I just overnighted here and did not get a chance to explore much. Restrooms and showers were clean. The site I picked was pretty short, but fine for the car and my tent. Tow vehicle would of had to have been disconnected if I was in a trailer. I arrived after hours and noticed many of the sites had tags on them indicating they were occupied despite being empty. I finally got out of my vehicle and looked at one and noticed it was left over from the previous weekend. This place fit me perfectly.
Very quiet park. Lots a shade. There were only a couple of campers and a tent in the park. No traffic at all in the park during my overnight stay. Bathroom/shower was a treat as it was air conditioned as well as clean!
Got to stay here a couple of nights as I went back and forth across the state. Friendly people. Being Sept. there was still room on a Saturday night. Later in the week when I stayed a second time it was almost empty. Showers and restrooms were clean, bug free, and well ventilated. I would like to come here again if I get the chance.
I stayed in a tent with electricity for a fan. Would have been a few dollars cheaper without electric. Park was very clean and nice. My only real complaint was with the Wi-Fi. There were several antennae around the campground with very good reception, however it was a subscription service and not free. I had arrived after the the park closed and payed using the drop box. There was no one to ask about the Wi-Fi service or subscription. There was some road noise due to the campground being directly next to a major road but it really did not bother me, even being in a tent. There were not many people using the campground since it was a Monday evening. I would not hesitate to come here again.
I spent one night here. Well groomed and shady. Very popular place as it appeared to be about half full on a Tuesday. Various items show their age but still functional (tables, rest rooms/showers). I did notice one of the restrooms had a washer and dryer. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little buggy especially at dusk. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
I got here late and left early due to travel restraints. Wished I could have stayed longer. Grass was mowed and neat. Lots of shade. I stayed in a tent in an RV site in case I needed a fan. Everything appeared in great shape. Hope I get the chance to visit again.
We took a vacation day so that we would have a chance of getting a campsite with access to the water. All 11 sites we asked about were somehow "reserved" for groups. This despite saying that all sites are first come, first served. The only spot they could find for us that supposedly had access to the water, did not because of cat tails and weeds that extended 20 feet or so into the water. Most of the reserved sites sat vacant for our entire 3 day stay. The closest rest room and showers were not cleaned the entire time we were there. The next shower/rest room up the hill was cleaned daily. The grass had not been mowed for a couple of weeks. What was mowed was very little resulting in an overgrown, unkept appearance to the park. Overall, I think we are pretty much done supporting the state parks. We have bought the passes yearly but prices are still much higher than other types of parks.
We stayed on the beach side. Did not do much in the park because of the cold. Spent most of our time sight seeing. Beach was very close by. Campsites was very clean and level. My wishes for this campground would be more sites and Wi-Fi.
