I camped here before and did a review previously on May 2010 and gave it a 5/10. We stay at site 121, site was a bit on the small size with two cars and a 23 foot travel trailer. It appears there are doing a ton of work, the whole back area is redone new electric water and sewer and it looks like they've upgraded the Wi-Fi, I saw new high gain antennas on the buildings. And a ton of new cabins were added. I will definitely go back again this season but I think I'll try the back lot again. Now that it's been redone, I was very impressed with all the new work that's been done. Access to the "Highlands" has been changed they widened the road and made it two way. No more scary narrow small road around the back. Cable was not really needed I picked up 25 over the air free channels on DTV. The mini golf course does need some work.
We camped at T-7. This is a very nice campground. We pulled into the site without a problem, hookups were very close together, within a couple of feet so all I need were standard 10' size water and sewer length. The good things. This is a very private area, lots of playgrounds is a plus for very active kids, evening hayrides with free popcorn. Great activity center with video games and satellite TV. Very, very close to the Cape Cod rail trail. The not so good things. Wish there was swimming on the grounds: no pool and no swimming in the pond. I think if they added a pool it would be perfect. Only 4 channels on cable TV, couldn't get anything on the antenna either. Would go back again when the kids are older and can go to the beach and bike.
We camped at site #9. Overall very good, it was a bit tight getting into our site (28 foot travel trailer) with a tree and big rocks in the way, but after a couple of tries we got in. No problems with power, it was a hot weekend and we had our AC running. The cable TV was kind of lacking only a couple of local channels, got more with our antenna. No problem with water pressure or sewer hookups all close together with standard 10 foot hoses, but had to run a 6 foot extension cord for power, but not a problem. WiFi was excellent: plenty of access points throughout the camp, very high bandwidth compare to other campgrounds. The only suggestion I would give is to update the playground area for toddlers, grounds have a slide and a few swings, sand box and big tires. The pool was excellent very clean, it says it was heated but I don't think it was on at our stay. On our weekend they had a clown for the kids. "JOY The Clown" was a very good show and great for the kids. Great place to stay close to Boston and Concord for site seeing.
This was our fist RV'ing experience. Stayed at site #21. One word...Perfect!. Was very impressed with the site, staff were great very helpful and the indoor pool was a hit with the kids as well as the huge playground. Wi-Fi had a good connection, was kind of bummed about the cable channels only 4 or 5 of them but no big deal we have DVD's for the kids. Always saw maintenance working on upkeep (opening weekend). The site was very level on a fine pea stone. Bathroom and showers were spotless. The only problem I ran into was the water pressure was so high my regulator shut off (tried two different ones), so I just cracked the valve a bit and worked fine. I definitely would recommend this campground, book well in advance it books quickly. Labor day was already booked by the end of Easter weekend.
Staff were great and check-in was a breeze, got a promo with one night free. The pool, playground and jumping pillow was great for the kids. There was a second playground area in the middle of the campground that was ideal for toddlers. The only thing I didn't like was the site we stayed #571, in the rear section of the campground. There was a 50 foot span between the water/electric and the sewer. I had to go to Wal-Mart down the road on rte 44 and pick up 30 feet of sewer hose and another 25 foot water hose, luckily one of the staff lent me their 30 amp extension cord. The site was far from level, I had a 12" drop from front to rear and a 6" drop from side to side. Lots of exposed roots and rocks that the kids tripped over (kids 3 and under). No WiFi in the rear area and an insane amount of bugs, I know it's camping but the bugs are way out of control. I would only recommend the rear sites for experience RV's comfortable with narrow non-paved roads with trees inches away, almost ripped my black water outlet off when departing. Would not go back.
