This is a convenient park for us to get ready for the season or just to relax. Colorado State Parks are very nice with large sites, well spaced, big rig friendly, and upgraded electric on almost all sites. Great views from most campsites. D-Loop is the newest, but most other loops have been upgraded. This is a great, pet friendly park with numerous trails. There is boating, and fishing, and it is next to a model airplane area which is fun to watch. Also on the weekends you will see hot air balloons over the lake area. This is one of our favorites!
This is a very easy campground to maneuver around. They understand what RVers need, are connected to local repair shops if needed, good big sites for RVs with slides, and plenty of room to exercise your pets. I stayed here on way up to Canada and on the way back because it has not only full hookups but allows you to clean your RV or just bucket wash your front windshield for free. Great staff as well!
This is a very large park that is obviously popular and is quite full, I would assume during high season, since that is when we were there. We stayed in the back section near their storage area, which was nice and quiet, and accommodated big rigs. We had a slight problem with their 50 amp power, but the front desk allowed us to move. We had pets. They do have pet areas, but they could be larger. Still we did not have a problem, but if we were to stay longer we might reconsider. All in all this is still a good campground with a very friendly staff.
Nice campground that I have used three times in past 12 months as a way point in visiting Montana, Wyoming and Canada. I have always gotten and requested front sites since it accommodates big rigs easily. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy to get in and out and it is convenient to the interstate and gas stations that have diesel and restaurants.
