Nice lady working in office. This is no RESORT. Mostly folks living here in trailers. School bus came and picked up kids. Wifi didn't work. Couldn't get network TV with cable ,had to use antenna. Perimeter fence torn up still from hurricanes. Extremely narrow pull thrus. Hook ups too far to rear. Water spigot to low and close to sewer for sanitary purposes. Spent one night passing through. Will stay at Walmart or the J next time.
You might find friendlier owners but I don't know where. The Mrs. gave me directions on the cell to get there, checked me in gave me all the tourist site info we needed and then her husband took us to our site, guided me back in and even went and got a saw as a tree branch was barely touching one of our slides! That's how you run a campground! GREAT customer service. The site was huge, all the hook-ups were to the rear, which wasn't a problem for us but our host offered to get me a TV cable, sewer hose or whatever we needed to hook-up if ours wouldn't reach. They reached fine. But his offer was in my opinion a gesture from someone who is trying to make his customers vacation as stress free as possible and that did not go unnoticed. Wide dirt roads, our site was all grass which was nice. Beautiful scenery. Older park but nice. It rained hard all night but the next morning there was no mud. Great people, great place. Would stay again no question.
I agree with the brakes comment. Tight roads, tight sites. Our site would of not required us to unhook if it had been level. It was not. We pulled in just far enough to get our back out of the road as the site was more level at first then fell away about halfway in. Pulled the toad around front. Otherwise we would of not been able to level. Couple that owns the park are very nice. We stayed here to see Monticello and the roads to there were tighter than the roads to this KOA. No cell phone signal AT&T, no cable. Expect this when your in the middle of the woods.
Tight park for big rigs but doable. Feeder road is a roller coaster. I didn't have any problems or notice any excessive amount of signs or rules. Owner checked me in at closing and was very nice. They were very busy. Gravel roads, crushed rock sites. Our opposite direction pull thru was not very level. Un-hooking is very possible if you are long. We are 65' and barely fit because if we had pulled farther into the site we would of had no chance of leveling. Hard to take as the site was plenty long but not fully usable. Oh yeah if you look through the trees in the distance you can see 3-mile Island.
Resort? I'm not so sure I'd call it that. Nice place no doubt as it appears new. Nice landscaping between sites,hook-ups well placed. It's one wide strip with back ins on the left for 5th wheels and pull ins on the right for MH with a river view. The night we stayed there were about 13 MH's + us and one 5th wheel. The concrete slab was long enough for our 42' MH and Tahoe toad. There is also enough space on the side to park next to the MH. One thing I didn't like was our site was unlevel, sloping toward the river. Be sure you have your wheel chocks! Again a very clean, nice new place but pricey. I'd probably try the other place down the street next time, but only due to price.
This was the 2nd time we have stayed here as a stop over after dark. Both times we have been pleased with the ease of access and check in. The park is a fantastic place for a safe worry free overnight stay. Yes, it's almost on the highway but its closeness to the highway and ease of access is part of its appeal to us, especially after a long day of driving. We will stay here again.
Decent older campground showing its age. The water leaked at our site, there was construction going on behind us. We were under powerlines. The Big Rig sites fall away and could be tough to level as some are more sloped than others. Good Sam rates this park #1 for the past several years. Frankly we couldn't see why. The people working there were friendly so that helped their rating with us. Nice dog walks. We'd probably try a different park if we get back this way, but I wouldn't have a problem staying here if we had to.
Lady in office was super nice. My wife did not feel safe here. We are about 65' long w/toad, so we were put deep into the park. We barely fit. Everyone around us was living there. One fifth wheel had a 200 or so gallon propane tank behind it, and a washing machine hooked up under the hitch. Hook-ups were awkward, sewer was almost at rear of coach good thing we didn't need it. We stayed here as a stop over .Way overpriced. Would not stay here again.
Relatively new park. One of the nicer parks we've visited. Had just barely opened for the current season, so there were maybe 6 of us there. Stayed one night while visiting the Truman Library. Park is on a hill with terraced sites. Very nice Pull-thrus. Full hook-ups, gameroom, pool and of course the amusement park. We arrived just after the office closed, there is a ph # on the office window to call and the security guys will come down and take your info and let you pick your site, super nice guys. Cummins facility right across street. We would stay here again.
When I went in to ck. in a tenant was arguing with the lady in the office about some work they were doing on his site. Bad sign. Lot's of folks living here. Office staff was very nice. Escort to site was useless. Had me do a 3 point turn (42'MH) next to the office to get to our site instead of driving around the loop and pulling straight in. Never seen nothing like it. Guided us in too close to tree branches so we had to pull back out and re-line up. Guy evidently wanted to be somewhere else. We would of been better off if they just gave us a map and said we are here, you need to get here. Pet areas are artificial turf! Unsanitary and nasty. Worst I have ever seen. Would not put my dog in there! If you have a dog I'd go somewhere else. Sites are extremely tight. There are older RV's scattered around that haven't moved in decades, very unsightly. Would not ever stay here again.
Rating is not for amenities we stayed here as a stop over. We pulled in after hours in our 42' motorhome. Two more 42 footers pulled in as we were setting up. All 3 of us just spent the night. Casino a few hundred yards away. Fairly level concrete sites, we had a 70' plus pull thru. Campground was sparsely populated all hook-ups were dated but satisfactory. Good for a night maybe 2. Would spend the night again if ever back this way.
RV resort is on west side of I-5 casino on East. Beautiful resort one of the best we've stayed at. We checked in just as they were closing but the lady at the desk was as energetic and as nice as a person could possibly be. She took her time and went over everything they had to offer such as a shuttle bus that will pick you up right at your site and take you over to the casino if you so choose. We were escorted to our site by an older gentleman who guided us into a 70'pull thru. He insisted that I come over to the lighted power pedestal and he explained where everything was and asked if I had any questions. What customer service! He refused a tip. If your in this area don't miss staying here this place is truly a Resort and absolutely a 10.
We stayed here as an over night on the way north to the Monaco factory. Checked in after hours and had our pick of level concrete pull-through sites. Small park with several folks living here in perimeter sites. Very clean, newer and well kept grounds. Don't know how it's a Resort? Again we checked in after hours and left before the office opened. They have a slot in the door you just fill out all your info, put it in the envelope they provide and push it through. Very easy process for us. Would stay here again for the night without question. Rating is for Big Rig ease (we're 65' w/toad) and cleanliness, not for the amenities as we have our own.
Very nice resort. Wide sites, pull-ins or back-ins. Must disconnect/connect toads at office. Not convenient for us if just over-nighting. Beach was covered with seaweed, others were also not pleased with beach condition. For the price, wi-fi should be included. Free at office only. Place was about 1/2 full. Would stay again.
Beautiful park, easy access, extra long sites. We're 43' towing full size SUV and still had extra room on slab. Staff not outgoing. By contrast other campers were some of the friendliest we've had the privilege to meet. Lady in office would not honor big rigs 2nd nite free offer as I didn't present it at check-in. My mistake and I didn't argue, but the advertisement made no such stipulation. Oh well, live and learn. We will return as the place is very nice. I give it a 10 partly due to some of the so called "resorts" we've stayed at in the past that weren't.
