Earlier reviews are still accurate. The strong point is the location with several interesting places to see within walking distance. Do not miss the old county courthouse which is only a block or two away. The only downside for us was the lack of separation between spaces, which for us is important. The lack of separation is the price for a "downtown", however. We will stay here again.
Ok, but only acceptable. Basically a lot with some hookups behind a restaurant. Restrooms are in restaurant and not available when restaurant is closed. There is WiFi available at the restaurant and a table next to restaurant to use it when Restaurant is closed.
The current owners took over the park in October 2013 and older reviews are not accurate as of the date of this review. Several new sites are under construction and are reported to be complete by late spring. The restroom was closed due to construction while we were there, but will be completed soon. Laundry room is newly remodeled and very nice. The manager was very nice and helpful, This is a "plain" park with little shade, but well maintained and by far the best in the area. The park has good Wi-Fi. A mix of travelers and longer term occupants, but no junk or badly run down trailers, and other occupants are friendly. A solid "8" rating for us based on the future completion of the restroom.
Great Park. Fairly close to the City of Patagonia. No over the air TV available. Well maintained, clean. You may need reservations on a weekend--the park was close to full when we were there on a weekday. Good for pets.
Very nice park. Not exactly directly on the river/bay, but the park has about 300' frontage on the bay and a lovely wetlands area. It is a short walk to a park like area on the water. This is a great place for dogs, as well. The entire campground was spotlessly clean. Many of the occupants were there to fish the Alsea River and the park is booked full in August and September for fishing. There are a few long/term permanent residents. Very friendly and helpful owner.
We liked it because of location next to ocean and bay, good restrooms, close to boat landing. Lots of good places to walk. The site is gravel, but nice. This is not the place for you if you want to be in a group of upscale RVs with a city park like environment. Good place for pets with lots of room to walk or run along the ocean. Manager has a reputation of being cranky, but was great for us.
Other reviews are pretty accurate. Great view, noise from shooting could be a problem if you are not a shooter, but spaces with high numbers are not too close to most shooting activity. Shooting pretty much stopped at 8 pm. Free Wifi is available at the club house. Many broadcast TV channels are available, and selection is better than many cable systems. Supposedly park is for shooters only, but no one verified that we were shooting (we were). Lots of room when we were there--80 spaces and perhaps only 10 occupied.
Friendly owner; rate is for week or more. Daily rate is $20. Older rest rooms/showers, but clean and in good condition. Short term campers are pretty crowded. 5 miles off US 93, 20 miles from Kingman. Chloride has 2 restaurants (1 with WiFi), groceries, post office, and several antique shops in walking distance. Chloride has interesting history and worth a visit.
Great park if you do not want water, electrical hookups. There is potable water (earlier review that it is not is not currently accurate), dump station. Rate is based on golden years discount. View, river with water (rare in this area), sites are well separated.
