We found this place last year and have been back 4 times. This is family camping at its finest. NO drinking policy is great for families looking for a good family experience free of rowdy party's. Also a strict no 2 piece swim suit policy for females to enforce modesty-if you have a 2 piece suite, you will be asked to leave the beach-I've seen it many times. Nice beach, clean bathrooms, excellent playground, church services, and huge ice cream cones super cheap. Highly recommended for those wanting a party free camp experience.

Different people like different camping experiences: for us this park was perfect. The roads others are complaining about, are in fact one way. At check-in the ranger gave us explicit direction on the roads. So if you are met by an oncoming rig, one of you is going the wrong way. I've never seen sites this large in all out travels. Cable TV wasn't great and we could have used a sewer connection, but that's to be expected in a state campground. Bathrooms were clean; there was a good laundry and a nice camp sink. We had site 51, was about 100 by 200 with total privacy. The park is close to downtown Savannah and Tybee Island.

We stayed over Memorial weekend. Seems like a lot of things had been renovated. The bathrooms looked brand new and were very clean, nice playground, nice pool also clean, little pond for kids to catch and release small fish was fun. Sites were decent size, gravel and relatively level, hookups were good. Store and staff were very good. Grounds patrolled at night. Quiet time was enforced strictly, which we love. Only complaint, not the fault of CG is the parade of off road vehicle that come and go through the day. Very loud vehicles and we had to continue to warn the kids to beware of cars, although it is entertaining to watch some of them go by. Also very sandy.

This park wasn't as nice as we had hoped based on reviews. Grasses were very overgrown and unkempt. The staff was very nice and the location can't be beat. We had heard bad things about the trolley to the train taking forever and decided to drive to the train system. So glad we did. Later found out at the pool that the trolley made so many stops it took 75 minutes for riders to arrive at the trains and 65 to get back. We were 4 minutes: campground to train parking lot. Pools were nice. The playground not so nice. Bathrooms/showers were clean but crowded. Seemed like there were several "permanent" residents or transient workers here, which didn't make us feel as safe as we do in other campgrounds. Overall: just OK but if your going to DC, it's really the only option.

We loved this place. It is in a resort town, so expectations of the great outdoors would be foolish. Jets did pass overhead, but nothing ever loud enough to disrupt speaking or TV. My boys 11,6,5 thought is was very cool to see the planes go by. Bathrooms were clean, nights were quiet once quiet time began, sites were level. Transportation to the beach was fantastic. Two dollars ride all day per person. Staff in the office could have been a little more friendly, which is the only reason I didn't rate a 10.

We camped here for the Halloween weekend with our brood of 6. This is a very family friendly campground. The activities were non stop, well organized and fun. The facilities were clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. They even waited for us to arrive at 9:45 p.m. to escort us to our site and had a bundle of firewood waiting. Sites were very average for a campground with some deluxe sites with patios and porch swings-even saw some lamp posts on sites. Great for families with kids. Couples and retirees might want to shy away from the Halloween weekends if you don't like kids. Nights are extremely quiet.
