This is mostly a place for full time residents. We were given a site in a row of full timers and if our fifth wheel was one inch longer we would not have been able to get in and out. Slide outs come within a couple inches of the trailers on either side. Basically a Walmart parking lot with hookups. The place is clean, no trash, and the people are very friendly. OK for a one night stopover, although you may think twice if you have anything longer than 35'.
The lake was low so it was a longer walk to the beach, but during the week we had the place to ourselves. On Friday night it filled up with weekenders and they kept us up all night. No park rangers around, and the camp host certainly wasn't going to do anything about it. Nice campground with large sites, nice view overlooking the lake. Clean bathrooms and showers. We loved the place, and will come back again, just not on a weekend.
Nice state park at Guernsey Lake, mostly frequented by weekenders. There are several campgrounds around the lake, but only one had hookups. The good: nice large sites by the water, good views, good fishing. The not-so-good: lots of bugs, sand burrs everywhere, unpaved roads with lots of dust, noise from passing trains. It would have been very loud if you were in a tent. Also there had been a wildfire earlier in the summer and large areas of trees were burned.
Very nice campground with lots of trees. Lots of shade from the trees, and a short walk to the lake gets you great views of the Tetons. We had no problems getting our 38' fifth wheel in and out, but some of the turns were pretty tight. Grocery store, gift shop, visitor center, marina, laundry, etc are all a short walk away. Wi-Fi is available at the laundromat. Park was very quiet at night, and very enjoyable all the way around. We'd love to go back!
Nice for a one night stay. This is a small park and sites are very tight. The whole park is gravel, including the small space between sites. It was full the night we stayed, and it was a challenge to get our 38' fifth wheel in and out. Did I say that sites are very close together? Not at all conducive to sitting outside, even though a few sites had metal fire "pits". But the staff was friendly, helpful, and the park is well-kept and clean, so we did like it.
Nice campground right in town. We loved being able to walk to the museum, and Dairy Queen (mostly Dairy Queen). We stayed in one of the pull-through sites which had plenty of room, but no trees. There are some trees around the back-in sites. The cable TV hookup was a nice surprise. This park is well-kept, clean, with nice grass areas. Wi-Fi is available only near the office, and our site was too far away, so I sat outside the office to access the internet. It was very quiet at night. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Cody.
