We booked our 2 night reservation in advance. My deposit hold was $50.00. We were able to pick our site at the time of our advance booking. We knew we wanted to be by the pool, restrooms and trolley stop. We were at site 33. I found this to be prime real estate at this park. We hit the pool right away. It was packed. My 2-year-old got hit in the head w/a water ball being thrown the length of the pool. Then I was hit in the head as well. Oh joy! Needless to say the pool is pretty small for the size of the RV Park. We found the bathroom facilities to be spa-like. What a pleasant surprise! The 2nd morning we walked to a pancake house for breakfast. After walking back to the RV Park we hopped on the trolley and didn't return until dinnertime. We knew we would be out on the town for most of our time at Riveredge. We did get to visit the arcade and also did up our wash in their laundry room. The dryers are top notch drying at lightning speed! We also enjoyed the novelty of ordering a pizza to our campsite. There are several to chose from in the area. There aren't campfire rings but you can set up a campfire on the gravel section of your lot. That's what we did. It was cleaned up by the staff the next morning. The garbage dumpster is right by the restroom which we were situated right next to, a nice convenience. This is a nice park to stay at if you are in the area to see the sights and chat up your fellow campers.
I didn't feel very comfortable at this campground. It seemed there were many residents of the RV Park. There was a playground advertised but unfortunately that consisted of three wooden swings. When I called ahead to reserve a campsite the phone was answered by mumbling teenagers. I did not receive a confirmation number and I did not have to put down a deposit. I was very nervous I would not have a site upon arrival. The check-in is at a gas station convenience store. I was checked in by a young, teenage girl who offered basic knowledge on how to visit the Berea Artisan Center. Our stay was very short as we were out at 7am the next morning to visit attractions. I say stay if you need a place to just rest the night. Do not stay if you are looking for an enjoyable campground.
We arrived after the office closed. Our reservation had been made online therefore our check-in was easy and the paperwork, information and site assignment was in the drop box. Very easy. I agree with the statement that it is a very simple, basic park. It's quiet. Our view looked out onto a crop field. It's a great location for those who will be taking in the area attractions. It had the feeling of being a newer park. There aren't fire pits or campfire rings. There is one fire pit at the pavilion at the center of the campground. I do not have any complaints about this RV park.
