It has very small sites in both width and length. We have a small 5th wheel and truck and we stuck out in the road on both ends - most larger RV nearly blocked the entire road - making to hard to pull in or out. Sites are so narrow - could not put out our awning and the people on the left of us nearly hit our slide out with their truck. Two restrooms that were nasty - I was told they only clean them once a week - they were a mess. There are better parks in the area.
This is a nice looking park – but very poorly run. They try to run it like a 9 to 5 business. Nothing is open until 9am – including bathrooms and showers, exercise room, pool, or laundry – and then is shut down at 5pm when the office person goes home. Guess when they go home, RVers are supposed to go into their RVs and not come out again until 9am. Office person has a personality like wet sand. It does not seem like she likes her job. We called a month in advance and made a reservation; even paid for it then. When we arrived, nothing was ready for us. We had to wait 15 minutes for her to get the paperwork ready; then had to wait another 30 minutes to go over and sign all the rules. By the time we got out of there, it was raining so hard, we had to wait to set up. Had we been in and out of the office in five minutes like most parks we would have been able to set up before the rain. Then, the rules are not correct. The rules state that the office and all the stuff (bathrooms, laundry, exercise room) opens at 8:30am. But, since no one gets there until 9am, they don’t open until then. Trailer park behind the RV park is very noisy. This is a poorly run place; they just want your money. Wife asked what did we pay for? We will never return here!
This is an OK park for an overnight. There are lots of permanent people who do not like the overnighters. Sites are very tight and with all the extra cars and trucks from the permanent people, I had a very hard time getting into the site. The dog that was tied up in office, guess it belongs to the owner, nearly tore my wife’s leg off. Guy behind the counter thought it was funny. If we weren’t so tired, would have left right there. There is lots of traffic noise as there is a Freightliner place right behind the park. I did not get very much sleep. I will not stay here again.
This is not a bad park overall. Sites are mostly level with tire ruts in the dirt. There is lots of pine needles and sap. There was no breaker on the electricity which was kind of scary. It was easy in and easy out. I think this is more of an overnighter than a long-term place. There is nothing to do in the area, and the park does not do anything with the campers. Wi-Fi was OK, but the cable was very fuzzy. I could barely see the lower channels. I asked the office to look at it, and they said they would send someone out, but they never did. I will not stay here again.
Fire ants – tons of them, everywhere. We had near 20 mounds on our site. After being bit numerous times while trying to set up, we went to the office to ask what could be done. They gave us a very small plastic bag with fire ant killer in it and instructions. The instructions stated to pour ½ cup of this stuff over the mound and lightly water. We measured the stuff in the bag they gave us, it was not even ½ cup. Not to bad if you had only one mound, we had nearly 20 mounds. Seems this park only wants to do as little as they have too. When we checked it, was told they have WiFi but when we got to the site, it did not work. Called office and was told that the router had been down for a few days so it was not working (could of told us that when we checked it). Stayed seven days, never got WiFi. Will not ever stay here again.
Newer, family run park. Concrete pads, and roads. Great new facilities – clean showers. Great looking pool but we did not use it. They have an exercise room that has very little equipment and most of it seems old. Plus, this exercise room was very dirty. Plenty of space between sites. Closed to Hwy 59 but far enough not to hear any road noise. Stayed two nights, asked about staying for a month but the price was really, really high for a monthly. Will return for an overnight or a day or two only.
Worst RV park we have ever, ever been too! We have been full-timing for two years and this is the worst park ever. If you don’t plan on staying at this park for a year or more, the owners treat you like garbage. Bathrooms were disgusting, sites are unlevel, Wi-Fi did not work. Plus, watch out for the crazy cat lady. She and her partner think they own the park. Does not leash her animals and thinks it cute when they run under your rig (it almost seems like her cats don’t like her either).
Not a bad campground. However, it felt very creepy here. The park is on a side of a hill which was very scary during our entire stay. It was scary pulling in and pulling out. It was scary trying to level. It was scary every time we went outside. Plus, the owners and workers, while very nice, they just seemed creepy. Place was very clean and well taken care of – just creepy. Bad – site are very close to each other and not very long – hard to park both fifth wheel and pull vehicle. Probably would not stay here again.
Not a bad overnight campground. However, we were put on a row facing the main road into the park. Every RV that came in would stop right in front of us on the road and go check in (even at 11:00pm). Then, they all would unhook right there (not more than five feet from our tow vehicle) – even though they had plenty of room at their site. We even had one that took their dog out and let it use the bathroom right near our rig – don’t understand why they could not wait five minutes and use their own site. If you stay here – do NOT stay by the main road into the park. Other then that it was OK for an overnight.
$14 was for the monthly rate. If you like trains, this is the place for you. They blow their whistles all day and all night. Made it hard to sleep at times. This is not a very pet friendly park. We do not have pets but don’t mind them. However, there was only one small place to walk your pets and it was up in a far away corner of the park. Thus, people would walk their animals right next to our RV. Everyday, we would go out and see droppings by our RV or in the street in front of our RV. Sites are all gravel (expect the overnights which are paved and very, very small). The sites are unlevel and not very wide or long. They have strict rules keeping people from walking through occupied sites but this does not stop anyone, especially the seasonal or permanent residents. I guess the rules don’t apply to them. The whole park gets very dusty when the wind blows. Would only stay here again as an overnight.
Probably the best park in Western Maryland. However, it is not worth the price. Should be OK for a few nights but that is it. Roads are narrow and sites are hard to get into and out of. Might be nice in summer. Would come back.
This is just a glorified state park – a two star park with a five star price. The whole place was dirty. The sites are mud pits – the roads are potholed. The bathrooms were so dirty and disgusting that we walked in and then walked right back out. The trees hang so low that you are scared to move. It seems that all they want is your money and they don’t want to give you any value for it. The front desk girl acted as if we were bothering her and she kept wiping her nose on her hand then handing us stuff. Would NEVER stay here again.
Worst park experience I have ever had. When we pulled in, the lady at the gate was more interested in watching her soap opera then helping us. She just dismissed us and told us to go find a spot and then come back and tell her which one it was. Not ever being at this park before, I asked where do we go to look. She just said go look at site 32. Then, her husband came around the corner and said we should try site 38: just go down until you see the bathrooms and turn left. This is what we did. However, let me tell you, as soon as we made the left turn, we were doomed. There was no way out, forward or backwards without damaging the top of our RV, which we did. There were no other RVs in this section as no other RVs would fit. They had no reason to send us into that area. I hope these camp workers are not getting paid just to sit there and watch TV. Seems a waste of Federal dollars to me. Would not stay here again.
Definitely an overnight park only. The owner was very grumpy – but friendly. Men’s bathroom was awful – women’s OK. Very, very low flow shower heads. Our one main problem – there were only two RV’s on our row. One was ours and the other was right next to us. A person from a row behind us decided that he wanted to go to the bathrooms. So, he walked between our site and the camper next to us. He even had to turn sideways to get between our slide out and a tree. He did this as we were still setting up. Person had no concern for us and our privacy or spot. I guess we were just in his way. By the looks of this person’s RV (A Mexican National and several others all living in one small trailer), it would appear that they were long-term residents. I guess that gives them extra privileges. There were plenty of empty spaces on our other side or on the other side of the camper next to us. I guess us overnighters are just an inconvenience to the permanent people. Because of this, we laid awake all night and left very early as we could not sleep. Sites were level but all dirt. Be very careful leaving park as you will scrap your bottom – we watch several do this. I could only get the Wi-Fi to work at 3:00am. Not much in town and pricy for what they offer. Would NOT stay here again.
Very good campground if you spend your time in the casino. Not a destination stay. Great price for what you get. Used a pull-thru site and enjoyed it, but it was far from the casino. Will stay here again on return trip.
