Staff was very friendly and helpful. Many activities for this time of year. My only complaint is the pull thru site had a beautiful view of the dumpster and was across from the waste water treatment plant for the campground. This meant no open windows on warm days or the odor was just too much. This was only for one night that it was really bad but still keeps me from giving a better rating. The roads were not too bad considering we had about 2" of rain the night we arrived. Try to get a sight away from main office and you should have no problem.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campground is for sale due to the age of the owner and this is reflected in the general condition. The road noise is horrific and is everywhere in the campground. The road is rough and this makes the noise enough to bother sleep. There is not much going on in the campground for activities but enough outside for us to explore. Electricity is metered and this seems excessive for the rate.
Easy access from I-95 is a big plus. You can see the interstate from most of the campground so the noise is a factor. It was cold so the windows were closed and we were tired so it didn't really matter to us. Most of the place was torn up due to sewer repairs or upgrade so it's not really fair to criticize for the condition of the park. A little pricey for the accommodations though. Gravel sites and mud everywhere.
I have never seen a campground laid out like this! Pull thru sites are only pull thru if another site is empty when you arrive? The only reason to use this campground is for location. Not too much else to make this worth stopping at but good for the purpose it serves. Location Location!
Really a nice rustic type park. Great for those who don't need to be entertained with planned activities. Sites are large and really private. Close enough to other points of interest. We really enjoyed this campground.
This campground is on the side of a hill. We stopped here due to freezing rain on the roads. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get registered as the clerk was too busy with truckers getting fuel. We wanted a pull-thru, and what we got wouldn't have been possible to get into without unhitching our towed car. Wet and icy conditions made for an interesting drive up the hill to our site. Not a campground I would recommend.
Excellent short term stop. Easy on and off of I-95. Not too much to do but the flea market there and that is on it's last legs as nearly half of the vendors have folded. Close enough to Jacksonville for trips into town though. Clean and very friendly campground.
We made a reservation in October for 2 weeks in Jan.for our 42ft. motorhome. Reservations confirmed via e-mail. Showed up to the campgrounds on scheduled date and no site available. They had the paper work to charge us for the 2 week stay but no site. Wanted us to either take a site backed up to another motorhome that we would not fit in or take an electric and water site until someone departed. I thought that the purpose of making reservations was to have a site suitable for your rig? In a way I'm glad we chose not to stay as I've seen more room to spare in a sardine can. Just a fair warning to all about this camp ground and it's policies. Not even an apology! (We did not stay in park).
Excellent campgrounds. No problems in or out with a 42ft. motorhome. Only complaint was the internet was very spotty at our site #46. Week signal cause multiple disconnects. Can't ask for a nicer site otherwise.
The sewage system is malfuntioning and it permeates the whole park. Would leave but no refund is allowed for any reason. They say they are fixing it and it is the service company's fault but a refund would be nice so we could move somewhere else. Would give a higher rating otherwise. If you stay here try and get a site on the outer loop so you don't have the parade of people through your site going to the main building.
Good place to do a nights stop over. All the funky stuff you would expect for this place. Clean and easy access. Good for an early departure with I90 so close but no real traffic noise. Will use again going north or south.
Really a nice park with friendly and helpful personnel. This was our 2nd visit and they had finished the upgrade since our last visit. Well done and worth the cost. Only dislike was the added cost for anything extra but that goes with any KOA. The wifi is not the best but with a good cell signal we didn't use it anyway.
This park would be very nice but the sites for non seasonal campers are shared hookups. That would not be too bad but you end up facing the camper next to you with your awning side. The distance is not very good and there is not really enough room to relax without intruding on your neighbor or them on you. We ended up with less than stellar neighbors and there camp fire was less than 10' from our bedroom window. We ended up leaving a day early as our motorhome now stinks of smoke and we will have to clean it. All the seasonals appear to have plenty of room and transients are treated as just extra income. Not worth the fee.
