I agree with recent reviews - this campground is a real find and definitely worth the drive. We were able to get Verizon Wi-Fi without difficulty. The sites are large and level. We were on the Loblolly loop mentioned, but the view suited us fine. Lots of birds - egrets and Great Blue Herons, for instance. Staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely camp here again.
As mentioned, this is a new campground, "a work in progress," as owners said. Very nicely done; garden flowers a nice touch; close to Little River Gorge scenic drive. Clean throughout. Friendly and helpful owners. We would camp here again.
Nice park with very helpful staff. We asked to move to another site because had difficulty leveling up and the owner came by to see what the problem had been so she could correct the problem. Bathrooms very nice. Would camp here again.
As noted by others, a beautiful park. There was a mix-up about our reservation, but the delightful young woman at the office said, "My boss is awesome. He'll work out something." and he did. I thought her attitude said a lot about the staff. We would definitely camp here again.
This park is like a mini theme park, probably great for a family with kids. It was quiet enough when we were there (off season, during the week). Staff was helpful. Escorted to site, which was pleasant. We would camp here again
This is a very nice park at the beach, although there are dunes between the sites and the beach with a boardwalk to the beach. (With the wind as it was, that was likely a blessing.) Well-maintained, groomed, beautiful sites. You can drive on the beach (requires $12 permit, good for a year). The beach here is clean, flat, and walkable at all times of day or night. There are two pools in the park, one quite large. Staff helpful; escort to site. Immaculate bathrooms and showers. We stayed for four days and would definitely camp here again.
This is a lovely park with sites located on the river. As described by others, the sites are difficult to get into and if there's a traffic jam, even more so. We were here off season during the week (hence the lower rate, too), so it wasn't a problem for us. Sitting by the river, watching the birds, then the sunset, it was very peaceful. I can imagine it might not be on a busy weekend. We would camp here again.
OK for overnight. Site was level and sites fairly close together, but there is a large open area with a playground and a small pond (not a lake, by my definition) with no sites on the pond. Bathrooms clean, but need updating. Pricey, as usual for KOA's.
This is one of the most beautiful parks we've stayed in. It was built in 2008 to replace the old one when the lake level was raised. The sites are spacious and are immaculate, as are the bathhouses. There are a lot of water activities available, including a very large swimming pool. There are a number of trails, including one that borders the lake. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a marvelous experience here. The owners go way out of their way to be helpful. "We try to treat everyone like family." The shuttle service is worth the price in itself. No battling traffic or parking hassles. The bathrooms and laundry are immaculate. The sites are spacious; some have concrete pads. Wi-Fi and TV worked very well. The pool was closed for the season. It turns cold here at night in Sept., even though the days can be hot. The Mexican restaurant next door is authentic and very good as well as reasonable. This is not the fanciest place, but it is one of the best at which we've stayed and most reasonable, especially for this area. We'd definitely come again.
We often avoid KOA's, but these folks are clearly trying to change the image. The park is very pleasant, nicely laid out. Bathrooms are spotless, water is hot. Staff is friendly, escort you to your site. Nice facilities, including ice cream parlor. It was too cold for swimming, but pool is available. WiFi worked fine.
This is a lovely, quiet park on a lake. Staff was helpful and friendly. The bathroom was basic at best and didn't seem to have been used much. I would rate them about a "5,"so didn't feel I could say they were not clean per se. We were here after Labor Day, so it was too cool to swim, though there was a small area near the playground, which was also very nice. We would camp here again.
