This may be the nicest campground we have ever stayed at. The layout it fantastic and it's so easy to navigate through. The sites are spacious and are all paved. We had a back-in site, which is normally something we do not prefer, but it was a piece of cake to back into. The water pressure was amazing, the electric worked great, and the bathroom, shower and laundry facilities were spotless. The entire campground was spotless. The owners really care about this place and it shows. The entire staff was so nice and helpful, too. There is a ton of grassy area to walk your dogs, we were even able to throw the ball with our dogs behind our spot. You are out in the middle of a cornfield, but also only 5 minutes from a Walmart, gas station, restaurants, hotels, the highway, etc. This was the perfect location making you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere yet you are so close to everything. I cannot say enough great things about this park, but if I had to say one negative it would be it's proximity to a train tracks. You didn't hear the train all the time, but there was one night where we heard it a couple of times so that was a bit annoying. But it wouldn't stop me from coming back. If you are ever going to be near the Des Moines area I highly recommend this RV Park. If we ever make it back this way we will definitely stay here again.
This is a great park. It's a no frills place, but the sites are huge and pretty level. The park is very easy to navigate through even with our 40ft Class A motorhome with a tow. I can only imagine how crazy this place gets when there is a race. We made sure to come when there wasn't a race which meant the park was pretty empty making it quite peaceful. However, on Saturday night there was a live band playing outside which was pretty loud but they stopped by 10pm. If you have a pet, there isn't a ton of grass to walk your dogs, but there was a enough to get the job done. I can't comment on the restrooms because we didn't use them, but it's always nice to know they are there. You cannot beat the location, it's 2 miles from an amazing outlet mall if you are interested in shopping. We will definitely stay here again.
This park was a huge disappointment. The staff was incredibly friendly, but the park itself was very old and run down. It's extremely small and most of the people there are permanent residents. It's right next to the AC airport and you can hear planes taking off and landing all day long, it's awful. We would not stay here again and we would not recommend it to others. The only reason it got 3 stars is because the staff was very friendly.
We spent 4 nights here and had a great time. The campground is enormous and has every amenity a person could think of. However, they do not have a dog park which was surprising to me since they are so pet friendly. You can't beat being less than 100' from the ocean, that was incredible. I would love to give this park a 10 but I had two issues. The lanes between each row are extremely narrow making it almost impossible to fit through, and this was a common complaint among most of the guests we spoke with. We actually moved our site because we could not pull out of the original one we had. The other issue we had was with the fireworks. Kids were setting them off until 11pm and later each night and our dogs were freaking out the entire time. This is not the fault of the park, but something I thought should be mentioned if you have dogs that are scared of fireworks or small children that need to be in bed before 11pm. We would still stay here again because the park is incredible, but we will probably come out of season so it is a bit quieter.
We just stayed here for 3 nights and we enjoyed it. The park is very quiet and the people staying at the campground were all extremely friendly. This is a no frills kind of place, it has a small playground, a pool (but we had no use for that), and a dog run. The dog run is nothing more than a fenced in piece of land but our dogs loved it! We took them 4 times a day and they were good and tired after each trip. I felt very safe here and would definitely stay here again. It's pretty close to Downtown Charleston and it's next door to a Publix so the location is quite convenient. My only complaints are that the bathrooms could have been cleaner and the speed bumps were brutal, I will never understand why they have so many in an RV Park. One last thing, they are VERY strict about their 10 mph speed limit. We were going 12 and they stopped us and told us to slow down.
