This campground is very convenient to the historical sites in Gettysburg. Most of the campground is uneven gravel. Full hookups added to the $30/night charge bringing it to $50/night. The staff was friendly and helpful but as far as the campground I can only say it is "rustic." They have a nice pool and play area for children.
This is a nice and quiet campground, right off I-81N. A little hilly but were able to maneuver easily with a 40' RV and toad. Grounds are well maintained with really nice dog park. Owners were very nice and helpful. Close to Natural Bridge. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely small campground in a pretty area outside the hubbub of Pigeon Forge. Some of the sites have a concrete patio with patio table and chairs, overlooking the creek, fenced in area for pets. We were easily accommodated with 40' rig and toad. There are laundry facilities nearby but not on the premises.
This is a lovely small campground, clean, well-kept with friendly owners. They were able to accommodate our 40' rig with toad easily. I would have rated them a 10 but for their road, which was only accessible for one rig at a time and seriously needed repair of holes. Their sites were level and we had enough room that we didn't have to unhitch the toad, so easily pulled out in the morning. We would definitely stop here again.
This is a yearly stop for us on our way north. Every year the park adds new features. This year was the huge dog run area. It is always clean, convenient to shopping and attractions, well kept, friendly. We will definitely return again next year.
This park was a big disappointment. The driveway to enter the park is not suited for RV's or 5th wheels as it curves and only allows two rigs to be parked while checking in. This blocks the entire driveway so if you are trying to drive in, you can't. Within the park roads are very narrow with very large holes, not just pot holes, but holes the width of the road. They are only sand roads so when it rains, gullies all over the place. The majority of the park is permanent park models. The only nice part is the access to the beach. I would not stay here again.
We stayed here one night. Very easy on easy off of I-95,definitely a convenient stop. Our pull thru for 40' was fine but no one was next to us. People were friendly. Nice area for dogs to play. Laundry room was pricey especially because you had to purchase a $2 card. Office hours are very limited (closed on weekend). Trash disposal was limited to behind the office, which was a distance for us. Park is clean and neat.
Unfortunately Sunshine Key has gone through a manager every year and the place, owned by Encore, really needs to be cleaned up. We have stayed here the past 4 years and this year it really took a dive. The sites were dirty, needing grass cut, trees trimmed, trash picked up, etc. Sewers backed up several times while we were here. The people in the office are very nice and helpful, but the grounds are a disaster. We picked up at least 150 zip lines and numerous bottle caps on our site, and had to request gravel as the site was muddy. Although they have a new clubhouse, their game room is disgusting. The bathrooms in the game room and off the pool are moldy and cruddy. Several activities, including line dancing, are held in the clubhouse and every time they had to call for someone to come and turn on the air conditioning. The classes are every Tuesday and Thursday, so one would think someone would be assigned the task without asking. They replaced the pool furniture but the heater on the pool doesn't always work and several woman complained. The laundry facility is antiquated and needs replacement. People come from outside the park and use the laundry facilities as there is no other one in the area. Security at the park is non-existent. Saw wind surfers come in several days, park their van in an unoccupied space while everyone else had to pay. There is no night security at all. Last year several people wrote letters to Encore documenting the problems to no avail. Encore is only interested in $$$.
Beautiful, large campground with a helpful and friendly staff. Easy six miles off I-77. Well kept and easy to get in and out with large MH. Only suggestion to make it better would be hotter water in showers, as we stopped here on our way south. Definitely would return.
This is a beautiful resort. I say "resort" as it is definitely upscale: immaculate grounds, friendly helpful staff, convenient laundry facilities throughout the park and beautiful large showers. This year we were at the resort for New Year's Eve and attended the party at the clubhouse. The acoustics in the room are terrible and it was very difficult to talk. Although the music was extremely loud, the acoustics in that room do not allow you to have a conversation even during their "meet and greet" get-togethers. We will definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay at this campground. Very convenient to many areas. Grounds are well kept and ocean view from anywhere in campground is beautiful. Easy access to beach and water and nice restaurant on premises. Will definitely stay here again.
Staff was very friendly. Campground was very quiet but it was after Labor Day, so to be expected. No real amenities such as pool. Heavily wooded. Not all sites are level, basically just gravel. The roads are really bad very bumpy with large pot holes. Trees are very overgrown and could use some trimming and landscaping. It is convenient to all areas on the Cape, especially National Seashore.
Conveniently located right off I-81 and easy pull through sites for large rigs. Easy In, Easy Out. Wi-Fi was good and included in the fee. Nice area to walk your dog over the little creek. Nothing fancy but friendly people and a great place for a one nighter. We will definitely stay here again next year.
We stayed here a few years ago on our trek north so decided to stop for the night, as friends lived nearby. After charging $50 they have a charge for visitors, even those just stopping by to pick us up or visit for a few hours. All visitors must sign in and pay $4 per person. If they leave within an hour, you will be refunded $3. We were told this was for insurance purposes, but at $50 a night that should be included. As far as WiFi we were confused on their policy. Their instructions on the TV states first 12 hours are free, but their website states the first hour is free. Again for $50 WiFi should be included like the majority of RV parks. The TV reception was snowy so I went to the office and they said they would check it out, but it never improved and no one got back to me. It had snowed while we were there and I asked them to plow the road so we could get out easily with 4" snow and a 40' with tow. They only plowed it partially. Considering there were less than a handful of people there, the staff didn't seem interested in their customers. We have stayed in much nicer places with free WiFi, 70 cable stations (compared to their 26 stations) and paid a lot less with friendlier people. We will not stay here again.
People were very nice and we were given instructions for pulling in through back gate as we had a large motorhome with tow. Still very difficult to enter the park, although pull-through site was nearby. Lots of traffic lights when getting off turnpike to get here. Too difficult with a big rig.
This campground has so many possibilities but it needs to be upgraded and some specific rules set up for sites. Although the sites are a good size, many of the sites are set up like compounds, with fencing and tents, multiple trailers and boats on one site. These sites are an eyesore and take away from a park that could be so much better. Although the roads are paved the sites are crushed stone but need replenishment. The pool is very nice but there are loose pavers and the furniture definitely needs replacement. We were told never to come in the summer as the tenants are noisy, unruly and garbage is strewn about. The people are very friendly in the winter months with lots of activities like water aerobics, line dancing, bingo, etc. The landscaping could use some cleaning up, like trimming and large holes filled in on the sites. The small beach area should be expanded and made more attractive. There is a large amount of sea weed on the shores but doubt if constant raking would solve the problem. The WiFi is practically non-existent even though they recently upgraded the system. As stated this could be a fantastic RV park if it had some conformity and the "compounds" were removed.
This is a lovely resort with helpful and friendly staff. People are pleasant and, although there is not specific area for pets, people are walking them throughout the resort. Large pool by the clubhouse with two smaller pools, which are quiet. The grounds are immaculate and landscaping is lovely. We spend time here going to and from the Keys every year.
We stopped here for an overnight. The campground was quite crowded due to a group get together. The roads are narrow but we were able to maneuver with a 40' and tow. The owners are very nice and accommodating and went out of their way to see we were situated in order to pull out easily without disconnecting the tow. Many nice and friendly people and helpful staff.
This is a beautiful park. Grounds are immaculate as are showers, fitness center and laundry facilities, which are conveniently located for everyone. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The dog run is very large so a dog can actually run and play. Our only disappointment in the Gulf Shores area was the beaches do not allow animals on them even off season.
This is a very nice campground, especially on the way south. There are so few parks open in the winter, and it is easy on and off the interstate. Restroom and showers are private, warm and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
What a lovely campground. We stopped on our way south and were pleasantly surprised, as not many parks are open in the winter. The bathrooms and showers were private and immaculate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept and we consider this a gem. We will definitely return.
Very nice campgrounds with large sites. Grounds very lovely. One of the best playgrounds for children we have seen. Quite a few trails to walk, shaded areas, nicely kept heated pools and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. Great restaurant in St. Johnsbury if you like Italian food (Cantini di Gerardo), everything home made.
This campground is lovely. The sites are large enough that you aren't on top of each other, large immaculate pool, grounds very nicely kept and lots of activities during the season. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was strong although the cable TV was a bit fuzzy at times. Highly recommend this campground.
Not sure if recently posters are disgruntled customers, but their description of Sunshine (an obvious fictitious rate) is so negative it appears to me they are trying to ruin Sunshine's reputation, because they have been asked to leave. We have stayed here for 5 years and can only say it has improved each and every year. The new manager is trying his best to make it a great place to stay and eliminate the "riff raff" that comes down from the Miami area. The staff is friendly and helpful and grounds are clean. It is very pet friendly, and there are lots of activities. We have found it is the best place to stay in Keys. Spaces are roomy and people are very friendly.
A definite gem! We stayed off season so campground was quite empty. We had ocean front site which was wonderful to watch the sun come up and walk the dog. Security was very evident, even with few campers. For a family this is a great place to visit with lots of activities, indoor and outdoor pools, on site cafe and ocean front playground. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We will definitely return here again.
This is a magnificent RV resort. The grounds are meticulously landscaped with lovely plants and trees. The facilities are top-notched: health gym, pool, playground for children, dog run, restrooms and laundry. This place is a first class resort. Located centrally to shopping, restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed our stay here and will return. Although next trip we won't get taken in visiting Sea Pines and paying $5 for the privilege of spending money there.
This is second year we stopped here for one night. Very friendly staff and people, grounds were well kept. Sites are a bit tight especially with a large motorhome. Wi-Fi and cable were excellent. Only recommendation I would suggest is easier access for larger coaches staying for one night.
Stayed here one night on our way south. Very nice CG, clean, easy in and out. It was winter and mostly one night people there. We arrived late but all information was on the office door. Will stop here again.
This is one of the few CG open in the winter for an overnight stop on our way south. Noticed a lot more permanent trailers this year, make sure you take 25 cents when you go to the showers as you will need it to turn on the showers. It is near the highway so there is quite a bit of noise. Location is a little tough as it is in populated city type area, so to maneuver with traffic was a little tough. It is okay for a one nighter.
This is a lovely RV park, but only for Class A motorhomes. Three nice pools with huge tiled showers. The grounds are impeccable. Shaded sites are available, depending upon where you are situated. Not necessarily shaded by trees but the direction of the sun. There are plenty of palm trees throughout the park. The park is a gated community. There are a lot of activities going on every day and night. We will definitely stay here again, although traffic in Naples was horrendous.
This is our second trip to this park and although they have cleaned up the "shanty town" appearance in some areas, there remains quite a bit of unsightly sites. Wi-Fi is available, but it is $20 a month. We contacted Sunshine in August and confirmed two sites together, specific numbers. When we arrived someone was in our spaces. They did accommodate us with other sites, but had we decided not to accept those sites we would have had to been in sites not near each other. This was quite annoying considering we had written confirmation of those sites. The desk/reception area could use some customer relations and better knowledge of the park. We arrived late in the afternoon but were not given the boxes to hook into cable. We had to go back to desk next day and ask for the boxes. For one of us the box didn't work and we were told to call a telephone number to talk to cable company. Beach areas still unsightly with seaweed. Hopefully ENCORE will continue to upgrade the park itself and provide more knowledgeable help in the office. Overall it is a nice park, decent space between RVs.
This is an extremely well kept, family friendly campground. There are cement patios with Adirondack gliders for the big rigs, which have recently been added. There is a lot to keep the family busy: catch and release fishing pond, gaming room, zip line, bouncy pad, playground, tree house, hiking and biking trails. Clean heated pool. For $3 there is miniature golf and you can rent bicycles, although they were expensive. Very pet friendly and has a nice large area with some agility equipment for pets to roam free. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They even remembered us from the year before. We will definitely stay here again.
This is a really nice park, quiet, lovely setting. Unfortunately the areas are all grassy and extremely uneven which made it difficult to level. Our tires were two feet off the ground in order to level.
This is basically a very nice park, unfortunately some of the permanent residents are not very welcoming to others. They will follow you to your site specifically to yell at you that you were going over the speed limit (not sure how they determine that) or come out of their RV and yell at you if your dog is urinating on their lawn. The park is nicely laid out but too many chiefs watching everything you do. Although there is a small pool, there are mostly kids which limits others use. Friends stayed here for the season but said they will not return next year. Some of the grounds lack basic maintenance.
This campground is very well maintained, with helpful staff. We did not find the sites crowded and the roads were recently graveled. The showers and bathrooms were immaculate. They have a wide range of activities planned, especially for the kids. Movies, crafts and games every day with a hayride on Saturday nights with free ice cream. Only problem was no cell coverage because the campground is located in a valley. Wi-Fi was usually good.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The park and sites are nicely situated. Pizza is made on the premises until 8:30 PM. We stayed here overnight, and my only criticism is the roads are dark dirt, instead of gravel, which was tracked into the RV.
We stayed here for two weeks and really like the central location to Key West and the areas north. The sites have plenty of room for your outside living. It is very pet-friendly which was important to us. People and staff were friendly and helpful. Pool is salt generated which doesn't require many chemicals. There is bay and ocean access and a marina/dock area for fishing. There are new Key West style parkside models for short or long term rental. Only downside was the beach areas were heavily covered with sea grass, which needs to be raked.
We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed it very much. People and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The park is situated between the ocean and bay and has a marina with docks available. The park is very pet-friendly which was important to us. Pool is salt generated so it does not use a lot of chemicals. There are cute 1-2 bedroom Key West colored park side models available for renting. The Wi-Fi is extra ($14 a week). The only downside was the beach areas needed the sea grass raked up. We will definitely stay here again.
This park is very small and the sites are extremely tight. There is no beach, just a boat launch with a covered patio over the water. No area to walk your dog, so you had to go out on the highway. People were friendly and helpful. Only one shower and one washer and dryer. OK for one night, but has no amenities.
Very nice park with well kept grounds. Although they close earlier than our expected arrival, we called ahead and they said someone would be here when we arrived. They only take CASH, no credit cards. It is very convenient to the surrounding areas. There is a river in the CG and a very pretty pond. Saw a moose walk through one night.
The office is completely in disarray. I waited 20 minutes to get checked in as the office was full of kids buying candy and such. We parked on driveway which was narrow with town cars pulling in and out. There is a pool which you are not allowed to use, as it requires an additional charge. We stayed here one night, but would not stay again as it is more of a local attraction for the pool than a campground.
Nicely kept campground, mostly adults, very convenient to surrounding areas. People were friendly and helpful. There are approximately 6 spaces with a unrestricted view of St. Margaret's Bay, which is right across the road. Very pet friendly.
Overall this was a really nice campground. There are quite a few long term or full time RVers and people were very friendly. The campground is nicely laid out with trees and a few ponds, so it is very attractive.
We enjoyed our stay at this campground very much. The staff was attentive and friendly and the grounds were immaculate. There is really only one waterfront site and it overlooks a bay not the ocean. The internet connection was extremely slow. They have a welcome get together once a week but although the "six mothers and regulars" were friendly they congregate together and there is very little interaction outside of their own group. This was also the opinion of several other people staying there.
We had a one night stay and there were huge potholes filled with water throughout the camp. Most of the camp is gravel, with little landscaping. It is located directly next to a main road, which was very noisy. The internet connection was extremely slow and actually non-existent most of the time. There was nothing appealing about the park.
There was a snow storm in the area and Walnut Hills was the only campground in the area that had cleared space and accepted customers. There was a foot of snow, yet we had no trouble navigating the grounds. The snow covered facility was absolutely breathtaking. Our dog was allowed free run, as only two others were here and she had the greatest time leaping through the snow. The ducks and geese were in the lake and it was picture perfect. The people were so kind and helpful and the facilities were immaculate.
