This is a great Park. The sites are large and level, as are the driveways. The showers/bathrooms are excellent-glass enclosures, and sparkling clean. The Mexican restaurant in the store is really good, we had it for dinner. The gas station out front accommodates big rigs. Easy on and off Freeway. We will always stay here when traveling West.
This Park is easy to get to from the Freeway, with good driveways and long sites. Built on a hill, but sites are amazingly level. Tall pines all over and trimmed high for big rigs. The only problem is water has to be trucked in. Showers are really good, but you have to keep pushing a button to get water. It only comes on for 5 seconds at a time! Indoor heated pool is nice.
This is well off the Freeway in a residential neighborhood, but easy to get to. Wide driveways, and long sites. A little overpriced for such an old Park. If we come this way again, we will find a newer park for the price. Lots of permanent residents, and mobile homes. Very quiet, but very little lighting.
This is a really nice Park at the Avi Casino. The only downside is the deep sand everywhere. Long level sites, great views, good access. Easy in and out. River Road is rough, but worth the trip. We stayed 3 days and took in the Casinos in Laughlin.
This is an excellent Park. Easy to get in and out of the Base. Long, wide sites, and parking for an extra car if needed. Bath/showers roomy and clean. Everything about this Park is first rate; and you get free air shows, Reveille, Taps, etc.
This place is a dump. We have stayed here 3 times over the course of 3 years, and each time it gets worse. It may be the best in town, but that's not much. The food was very good, and the staff was very nice. It desperately needs upgrades, and maintenance. We only stay overnight and never leave the RV.
This park has been greatly improved in the last 2 years with a new owner. They retained all regular staff, so it is well run. The trashy RV's are gone, and the whole place has been improved, with more to come. There are expanded sites around the perimeter, and the Mobil homes are gone. They have brunches, chili cook-offs, and barbecue contests. Seems to be something going on every other weekend.
This KOA is only 8 years old, so in great condition, and well run. The owners live on site, and are hands on. The only bad thing I can say about it is the water is unusable, bring bottled water with you. Even our water softener and filter couldn't improve the taste and hardness. Everything else is great.
Good overnight spot-NOT a resort. We stayed here one night in order to get through San Antonio on a Sunday morning. Only 3 sites for overnighters, the rest seem to be permanent residents. Not a fancy place, but will suffice for short stays. Everyone was very nice and easy going. You will be greeted by the resident flock of guinea hens when you pull in, but they stay near the office. Our site wasn't very level, although others looked ok. We pull a 37' fifth wheel and had plenty of space.
Good level sites, paved roads. Easy access to and from the freeway, and located outside the city. Quiet place. Grassy area between wide sites. Friendly helpful staff. Wifi down while we were there, new system. Great sunset view.
This KOA has been recently renovated, and has paved level sites, while the driveways are gravel. It is located out of town up the hill, so the views are great. The park is well managed, and have plenty of staff to help. All are very nice, helpful, and knowledgable. Excellent wifi. We stayed here for 3 days while getting our car repaired.
This is a quiet adult RV park, away from the city. Well managed. Most sites are permanent or long term residents. We were here for 3 months to explore the area on day trips. Sites are very spacious level gravel, while the roadways are paved. This is the high desert, so expect wind at times, and dust. Views are spectacular. We will return.
All sites are full hookups, with cable. Modem in office or free Wifi on unsecured network. Owner lives on premises, and is always available. Big shower facilities, with separate restrooms. All gravel-no mud or dust, and level. Quiet, peaceful. Most guests are permanent residents, but all is well kept and neat. We stayed here 2 weeks in a fifth wheel. New super Wal-Mart for shopping, and many large statues and shops on Main St.
This is the best there is in Alpine. Lots to see in the area. Very nice staff and well maintained. All new, professionally built buildings, with tile everywhere. Everything cleaned daily. New washers and dryers. Workampers on back row in one area. Fenced dog park and clean. Lots of room, on level sites. Good water and power. All sites have full hook-ups, with 30 and 50 amps. We stayed here a month, left for a week, then back again.
Great resort park. Can be a destination as there are plenty of activities available. We just stayed 1 night as a stopover, but it is what all other parks/resorts should strive for. All driveways and sites are concrete, also grass everywhere. Separate parking for adults only. This is the best there is!
This is the best there is in this area. Be aware that the area is really primitive, but this park has all the necessities. There is also a golf course, motel rooms, and apartments. Plenty of room at sites, and most are pull through. Located just 2 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park, and a few miles to Lajitas, and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Much to see in the area, and great views. We stayed here a week.
Good overall park for a short stay. Everything clean, orderly, and friendly. Not a destination park, as there isn't much to do in Ft. Stockton, but great for passing through. Easy parking, and hook-ups. Quiet, yet near the freeway-easy on and off. This is the best there is in the area. We look for a safe place, and felt comfortable here. Will definitely use this park again.
