This is a very nice park but their roads are horrible. They have a security gate and a very nice entrance but then after we checked in, we had to go down dirt, pothole roads to get to our site. We will not return here again.
The rate cited is the Passport America rate. The location of this campground is wonderful. It is only a couple of miles from downtown, historic Williamsburg. The check-in was very friendly and fast. We had a nice, wide, level site and the Internet reception was amazingly fast. However, if you don't like to listen to trains, this may not be for you. After about 3-4 hours of hearing them, we didn't even pay attention to them. Great campground and will use it again.
We arrived in Brunswick and it was necessary to go over 2 railroad tracks and down a mile long road along the river to get to the campground. This road and the roads within the park are "horrible". It was like a washboard and had numerous potholes all along it. The park host was out somewhere in the park so we had to track him down. Sites were not level at all and we encountered more potholes getting to them. I would not recommend this campground to anyone.
We arrived when it was raining so we expected the park to be wet. But what we didn't expect were all the potholes and rough roads. The check-in process was fast and friendly but the road to our site was up hill, to say the very least, and the road was very rough. The site was level enough and quiet, however the Internet was practically nonexistent. Then we had to make our way down the hill on another rough road when we checked out. We will not stop here again.
Nice park, but no one is in the office on a Saturday afternoon, so make sure you know where to go ahead of time. We had a slight problem with our electric, and after I called them, they moved us pretty quickly as it was 109 outside. Only stayed one night. Would probably go back.
This park is in a great location just off the highways and it is impeccably clean. The check in was very smooth and streets are nice and wide for easy access. The various fruit trees at each site add a nice touch. We stayed here 3 nights to allow us to see the area and Disneyland is less than 5 miles away. Would definitely stay here again.
The road to this park is off the main road by over a mile on a winding, narrow, and bumpy road. The entrance is tight and very hard to maneuver any unit around. We nearly hit a low limb as well as a wall at the main entrance. The sites themselves are very narrow and don't accommodate slides on both sides. I would definitely not advise a 5th wheel or big rig up here!!
This is a very nice and well maintained campground. The check in process was smooth and friendly. We stayed three nights to enjoy the area. If you camp here, don't miss going to Solving, a very quaint, Dutch town 5-6 miles from the campsite. Would definitely stay here again!
Our stay was for one night and were we ever glad!! No one was in the office when we arrived on Sunday afternoon and their note said they would be back on Wednesday. Took a site that was on an envelope taped to the front door and then backed our rig in. We had 50 amp until we turned on one AC then we lost it. Went down to 30 amp until we turned the AC back on. Then we had NO electric all night.... just ran our inverter. The only time we reached someone was when I left a message stating we didn't know the rate and to please let us know, and we'd send them a check. The manager was at our site within 10 minutes. Dirty place and bathrooms were filthy. We would never stay there again.
This was a great park. Getting there you travel over 2 railroad tracks and a narrow road along the river, which was a little narrow but wide enough for our motorhome and still had enough space for bicyclists that passed. We camped in a site overlooking the Potomac River and enjoyed it immensely. Shade trees in Section A runs along the exterior of the park so if you want shade, ask for it The management has recently changed and the park is now much cleaner and more well kept than before. We would definitely camp here again.
We tried to call the office as soon as they opened to make a reservation but the answering machine picked up every time. So we called back all day and left our number (several times). No one ever called back so we just drove up there. As indicated on their message, they close at 6:00 p.m. We arrived at 4:00 and the woman in the office was so very rude and said they close at 4:00. When asked why no one called us back, she said "I've had people in my face all day and just haven't had the time". She said we could pick one of the sites in the envelopes outside and pay in the morning. Not recommending a site for our size or width. So we tried three of the spots, before we found one that was level and we could fit into. We will not return or recommend this campground to anyone.
We stayed two nights here and wish we had more time. The park was excellent and we had an unobstructed view of the river, which is why the cost was a little higher than normal. The laundry area was very clean and the roads and sites were level and easy to access, If you're a golfer, play Coeur d' Alene Golf Resort. Great play!! Would definitely stay here again.
Very bad experience! We had reserved this campground ahead of time. When we entered the office, the desk was a deep freeze and very poorly kept. The man at the desk told us to go look at some sites, which he indicated on a map and see which one we wanted. So we unhooked our tow and went searching for a site. The dirt roads to the sites were filled with water and mud and the sites were not easy to find at all. 3 out of the 6 sites he said to look at were already used. We picked the most level site we could find but it was too narrow (with pines trees) that we couldn't pull out one of our slides. We would definitely not stay here again.
