We've camped at this campground a couple of times and it is one of our favorites. Great lake views and plenty of pine trees. Spot was fairly level and there's good separation between spots. There is a new bathroom with flush toilets and pay showers within this campground. Marina and store are right across the highway, unfortunately the highway can get loud at times, but not unbearable. Dump station is quite a drive down the hill. If you're considering this campground, or Flatiron or Horsetooth, the yearly county pass might be worth the money instead of the $7/day fee that is extra above the camping nightly fee.

Very nice campground that is fairly quiet compared to its Larimer County neighboring campgrounds (Carter, Horsetooth). Most of the noise comes from the many geese that call this home, and there is some road noise from the nearby highway. Elk and deer are usually fairly numerous here as well. Cell/TV reception is minimal. In early or late season it's very likely you'll have this entire campground to yourself. The dump station is the one on the other side of Carter Lake, so it's an even further drive to get to. Fishing is about the only activity allowed on the reservoir, and the fish do often jump out of the lake.

Great campground with plenty to do in the area (hiking, boating, fishing, swimming). We had a great view of the lake and hills with plenty of trees and a mostly level spot. Unlike Inlet Bay, which we liked but felt cramped by all the homes in the area, this feels more like camping. We had a decent 3G signal (Verizon) and a couple channels over the antenna.

This is a very nice campground, the only reason why it wasn't rated a 10 was due to lack of trees. But the man-made shelter supplied plenty of shade. The spot (14) was in perfect condition on arrival, and no leveling was required. The views were excellent, and spacing between sites was more than adequate. The bathroom is quite a walk from the bottom of the campground, a path down the middle of the campground would resolve this. The showers were $1/minute. Lots of bugs down on the reservoir, but not much of an issue at this upper campground. We will be returning.
