A very nice quiet campground with gravel roads and sites. There are several fishing ponds (catch and release). Large pull-thru sites. The site we were on (9) has overhead wires that are kind of low. The air conditioner cleared, but, I had to climb up and remove the CB antenna. (No biggy). The view from the top of the hill can't be beat. Most of the campground is filled with seasonal sites. We definitely would/will stay here when passing through.
This is a great campground for people who like a wooded area. All sites are in the woods and of fair size. The road into the campground is paved. The roads in the campground are dirt/gravel and kind of narrow. Sites are dirt/gravel and mostly level. Don't know about WIFI as we were on the move taking in Boston. If in the area again we would stay, as no negative issues arose.
This is a small quiet campground, with fairly big level sites. Entrance road and sites are gravel with little to no dust. Lots of grassy area. The large pull-thru sites have campers parked in opposite direction thus giving a feeling of more open space. WIFI worked pretty good. This is the second time we stayed here and would/will stay again. OH, and very quiet at night.
Location, Location, Location says it all. Sites are mostly gravel, but none are level, front to back, and side to side. The side-way slope is away from the sewer hook-up, thus you can't completely empty. Bring boards. We stayed here before with a fifth wheel, so level was not as much of an issue. All roads are paved and smooth. Sites open or wooded, your choice. I really like the no reservation policy. Wi-Fi worked very good at our site.
I have stayed at nicer campgrounds for less money. However, location, location, location. We didn't use the facilities, so I can't comment on them. The sites were all gravel and most were pretty level with good drainage. Might as well not have WiFi as it was verrrry slow to non-existence. There is a lot of train noise day and night. The wife said she heard 6 trains go through one night. I can't verify that (I didn't hear any). Check-in was a breeze. The Store is fully equip and has everything a camper needs. All in all, I do believe the positives out weigh the negatives and I would/will stay here again.
All utilities worked as they should. WI-FI was in and out, couldn't get tablet to connect. Sites were all gravel as most are in the west. The reason for the three rating is all the noise all night long. It seem all the 18 wheelers run at night and there must have been a train circling the campground as the whistle was blowing all night. I'd stay at a rest area or truck stop if I wanted all the noise. I would not stay at this campground or any other near the Interstate...Lesson learned..
Nice large sites. Easy in easy out. Located downtown within easy walking distant. Quiet and dark in the night hours. WI-FI worked great. Cable TV with all the channels. Would stay here again when in the area.
We stayed here two years in a row and got the same site (24) both times. Pickerel point has full hookups. I feel the price is kind of high for a State Park, especially if only staying overnight, in the middle of the week. Roads are paved, site are level gravel. Restroom and shower are new and very clean. Would recommend to other travelers and will stay again when in area.
The site we were assigned (site 4) was spacious and level. We got a downpour in the early evening and the site drained completely. No standing water in the morning. Restroom and shower was adequate. Never did try TV, internet or phone, so I don't know if any are available. Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone that likes wooded areas. Nice small park with friendly staff.
Stopped for an overnight. No one in office (Sunday afternoon) left payment in payment slot at office. This place has some long term campers. All were friendly. This campground was very quiet day and night. All utilities worked site was level. Would stay again if in area. Would recommend for short or long stay.
Very nice small campground. Having full hookups we didn't use the facilities, but looked them over. They are dated, but very clean. I can see it being a bit crowded if all sites are taken. The only negative to this campground is the 1500 feet or so dirt road into the park. If ever in the area again, I would definitely stay here.
A lot of the sites are small and not really level. We had to switch sites to get one that I could get level. Seems a little expensive for what you get. The sites down by the office, are grass with W/E only and level, has the best view of the lake. If you're into sunrises, these are the sites.
Sites were fairly level. Dusty gravel entrance road, which the manager/worker made sure the dust was flying. As small as the CG is, they should be able to get rid of the speeding ATVs. Other than those couple of gripes, it is a nice CG and if in the area. Would stay here again.
