This place is wonderful. Sites level, long, wide. Bathrooms are incredible. Clean and large. The owners have a garden and even gave the campers vegetables. The only reason this isn't rated a 10 is no cable and not much Tv reception. Satellites tough to use because of the wonderful trees on each site.
Only campground in Yellowstone NP with full hookups. Extremely crowded with campers and vehicles just inches apart. Did not use the bathroom as it was a day hike from our site. The showers were located at the main entrance and used by campers staying in other locations and was crowded and busy, so we did not use. Same with the laundry facility. A zoo. Cell phones did not work here, which was a concern for safety issues. No WiFi service which made planning our stay and paying bills difficult as we had to drive to a lodge some 30+ minutes away and pay to have one-hour access. Check in process went surprisingly smooth considering the number of spaces here. Checked out early and received a full refund for the unused time.
Decent sized sites. Good cable TV, Wi-Fi, electricity (and it was hot). Two laundry rooms, clean and functional. Location was good. Near expressway but away from the expressway noise. Perhaps most people wouldn't rate this campground this high as there are no children activities (e.g. swimming pool, mini golf, etc.), but for our purposes, it was very good.
This was tough to rate. Basically a large gravel parking lot with hook-ups: very, very dusty and windy. Some road noise from I-80. The "major cable" did have several channels, but the quality of the picture was terrible. Wi-Fi worked well. New owners were making several improvements: for example, added sod and fence for dog running area; sod and individual fenced areas for tents with picnic table under shaded wood cabana; planted several trees; etc. Laundry room and pool were nice.
The bathroom/shower are individual rooms like you would have in your house: very clean, very roomy. The sites are all grass, level, very wide and long. The park is small and very quiet: surrounded by trees. Laundry room is spotless. Host and Hostess, plus owner very friendly and accommodating. Wi-Fi is very poor; however, they were having an antenna extension plus repeater put in which should help the situation. If you plan on staying more than 5 days, let them know up front. Otherwise you do not receive the weekly rate, even if you decided to stay for 7 days. Cash or check: no credit/debit cards.
Pro: sites level, staff friendly, some trees, interior roads were good, quiet. Con: sites were VERY cramped, you could easily pass salt & pepper through your window to the next camper. Bathrooms were in need of cleaning, painting, and updating. Power posts had exposed screws to snag clothes/skin, and were being held up by the conduit. Water pipe was bent over. WAY too expensive for the shape this campground was in. Would not stay here again.
Pro's - level, large sites; large laundry room; bathrooms very clean and modern; decent cable, but somewhat limited channels; owners friendly and helpful; restaurant within walking distance Con's - the Wi-Fi was terrible. Kept dropping off no matter what time of day. We have been traveling for 30 days now and this is the first CG that we have had trouble with their Wi-Fi. We also felt that the nightly rate was very high.
Bathrooms have been updated and are nice. Sites are gravel and level. Choice of shaded or open space. Wi-Fi worked very well. Cable TV was very good. We were pleasantly surprised by this campground. Walkable distance (3 blks) to the Eisenhower Museum and Library. Large book exchange library at CG.
Bathrooms in need of remodeling. For example, one toilet in Men's bathroom was leveled using wooden shims. Laundry room acceptable with 3 washers/3 dryers. Some train whistle noise at night. Most sites in one long line. Sites a little narrow when slideouts and awnings are used. Sites are level. Very poor cable TV, but it is going to be discontinued. Wi-Fi poor - kept dropping off for basic email. Did feel safe here and owners were friendly.
We like Cottonwoods and have stayed here a couple of times when traveling in this direction. No road noise. Level, decent sized sites. Pleasant landscaping - lots of flowers and bushes. Wi-Fi worked very well. No cable TV. Bathrooms clean and very modern. Picnic tables on concrete pads at each site. Easy in and out.
The pull-through area is pretty much a gravel parking lot with full hook-ups. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Local TV is limited. Sites are wide, but not necessarily lengthy. I-24 noise is non-existent, although there is some local road noise. Laundry room has two new washer and dryers and is clean, although could use a fan as it's hotter than the hinges of: (and it's only May).
We have stayed here before just passing through. This time stayed a couple of nights to explore the area since we enjoyed the campground. Sites level, shady, and decent size. Somewhat limited cable. Very quiet. Wi-Fi excellent.
Camped here over night. The park was quiet with level sites. There was a special music benefit the night we stayed so the owners were very accommodating with a site location that wasn't too close to the due to the music.
