We stayed here one night on our way to Myrtle Beach. Overall this is a nice stop over spot. This was our second time visiting this KOA. The bugs, especially flies, were very bothersome this time around. Also the ladies bathroom toilets were not cleaned the two days we were there which was surprising. Another thing we didn't care for was our picnic table was literally right next to the sewer for our neighbor, and there was not too many other places to move the table and still be fairly close to our rig's door. It was fairly obvious by the grass growth underneath the table that the table is normally located right next to the sewage on this particular spot. We didn't encounter this at our previous spot in this park. Overall a great stop over park. Would stay there again in a different spot. The staff is extremely friendly.
This is probably the largest park we've ever stayed in and it took a little while to adjust. Great location and amenities. The beach was wonderful. We could walk right to the beach from our site. Be sure to padlock your coolers to your rig. Several people had their coolers stolen at night and we heard from others it is a regular occurrence. The kids loved the amenities especially "cruising" at night in the golf car. You will definitely need to rend a golf car if you visit as this place is huge. We would definitely visit again.
Overall this is a great campground. The bathhouses are cleaned daily and were nice and roomy. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake access and the beach area. Our site backed up to the woods and we saw plenty of wild life. The primitive sites in one area were simply breathtaking. The general store was well stocked with a good variety of items. The staff in the store was not overly accommodating or particularly knowledgeable about camping but that is probably due to their young age. Our only other complaint was the lack of sewage hookups and the horrible sewage smell at night. We were told they had a cess pool but the smell at night was pretty unbearable. Other than that, a great campsite.
Very friendly staff. Lots of planned activities. It looked like there were some long timers there but their site was tidy. Pull through site was a little snug and we could not open the awning. Bath houses were clean but very small and busy in the morning. The camp store was a little lean. They were out of bread or lunch meats so be sure to stock up before going. However, the kids enjoyed the video game room, the ice cream social and the story telling time. The train takes a little getting used to. Overall, good overnight stop.
