We stayed here on short notice, calling for a reservation at 4:00pm to arrive at midnight. The staff were very accommodating and polite. The good of this campground is the staff, the location, and the cleanliness. The downsides are the tiny sites, no shade, and on many sites very poor placement of hookups - especially sewer. The campground is good, but it can't touch Disney's Fort Wilderness just 6 miles away.
This was our second time to stay at this campground. We have stayed at two or three others in the Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area: this is the nicest we've seen overall. Very nice campground and the staff is great. We'll be back.
This was our second visit to St. Andrews. This is a great place to stay. If you like camping, state parks, outdoor activities - this is the place for you. Given the price, it is the best vacation deal I have ever experienced. The thing that could be better is the bath houses - as stated earlier they aren't climate controlled and due to traffic they aren't always spotless although I never saw them filthy. This park is a favorite destination for our family.
We stayed at this campground many times back when it was a KOA, we decided to give them a try again on a recent trip after some 17+ year hiatus. The park really hasn't changed much in that time - that's not really a good thing. The sites are paved and level. The hookups are easy enough to get to. Everything is just really adequate as far as the campground goes. It is located across a pretty busy road from the beach, once across the road you have to walk through a very large and dirty parking lot of a night club. Not a fun walk, nor is it kid friendly. Very colorful language can be heard coming from the club's wet t-shirt contests even during the early afternoon throughout the campground. At night the volume goes up. All in all, the campground is OK but the road noise and considerable noise from the clubs combined with the price (extra for cable, extra for kids, extra for...) really make this rank low in my opinion. Definitely not the worst place, but not somewhere I'll go back to when there are other choices in the area.
We live near this area and camp here frequently. This was about our 12th trip and we always enjoy it. There is a lot to do - golf, playing in the river, trap/skeet range, swimming pool, trails, etc. The only downsides are that some sites are quite unlevel and there are no sewer hookups. We will continue to be regulars here.
We camped here over Easter weekend. The staff was great! The sites were paved and level, several pull-throughs. The campground is conveniently located within Pigeon Forge but far enough off the parkway so that you don't hear the road noise. This is a great campground to stay at in this area.
