This is a very nice campground! The entire campground is in the forest making for lots of shade. Although the roads are dirt/gravel, there was not a lot of dust or mud when it rained. The setting is quiet and very relaxing. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby and the Ausable river is within walking distance from the campground. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again since it was close to Lake Placid and other activities in the Adirondack's.
Fantastic park! We stayed here 4 nights and loved it. The park was clean, well maintained and very quiet. The sites are huge with plenty of space between them. All of the pads are level and although they are all back-in sites, the roads are plenty wide to make maneuvering easy. The resort is not complete; there were no bathrooms or other facilities available without walking to the main office building. The staff was great, they even delivered firewood to my site. This park was very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the local beaches but only a short 25 minutes from Traverse City. The country setting was ideal. We would definitely stay again!
What a fantastic campground! The roads are paved and the pull-through sites all have level concrete pads. The back-in sites are gravel. All of the sites were plenty long and wide and one does not feel crowded at all. The campground was clean and well maintained. The office had a small gift shop and they served ice cream and coffee as well. The staff was very friendly. The entrance is gated and requires a key card for entry making for a very quiet and secure setting. The campground is within a huge county park that has a lake, bike/walking paths, boat rentals and fishing. And all of this within minutes of shopping and Kings Island. Will definitely go back to this campground.
Overall this is a nice place to go for a quiet camping experience. We were there over a weekend and it was quiet the entire time. Lots of trails for hiking and riding. But, very tight for motorhomes. Although their website says 40' MH are allowed, the sites are narrow and barely long enough. Additionally, most of the sites are 90 degrees off the road making for a difficult time maneuvering into the spot. It was also hard finding a level spot. We enjoyed it for the quiet, the forest and the proximity to all the Hocking Hills activities, but may reconsider another visit due the tight spaces.
Very nice campground; well maintained! I was pleasantly surprised by how rural the setting is given that the campground is so close to downtown. There are lots of trees and most sites are shaded. The roads are gravel and a little narrow is some places, but easily managed. Some of the spots are not quite level; it took me a couple tries to get the motorhome level. The entire campground is clean, the facilities are clean and the pool is very nice. The free Wi-Fi worked great. It's a 15 minute walk to historic downtown Lebanon for shopping and dinning; another nice bonus! I would stay again.
