This campground is a hidden jewel for those of you that like a more rustic woodsy feel. Some great spacious pull through's, very nice back-in sites, and excellent riverside tent, and medium size camper sites. Owner is a great guy and quiet time is quiet time. You can keep your campfire going as late as you like, as long as you observe the quiet time rules. Very clean and well maintained place. Rest rooms and showers are very clean. Kayaking and swimming is awesome. Only drawback is no Wi-Fi. There is some road noise as well but the good about this campground far outweighs a few small negatives. Definitely a place I go to a few times a year.

Our 1st time at the campground. Check-in went smooth. Campground is wooded rustic dirt road dirt sites. We weren't impressed with the looks of the new 50amp sites. Couldn't quite tell you exactly why they just looked weedy. We drove by these sites on the way to ours. Our site was the best site we've had, it was huge, fairly level, wooded, and very private, with a large bolder fire place. Behind our site was a rock bedded river flowing nicely with some nice natual water holes, cascades and crystal clear water. It was awesome listening to the river cascade over the rocks all night long. All the sites in our area were larger than average. We took a walk over the river to a larger section of the campground and all sites looked fairly large and roomy. Seasonal sites were done quite tastefully. Pool is enormous and very clean with a great pirate ship water slide that was a blast. Nice little store and restaurant. Owners are a bit strict on quiet time which is a little bit early (10pm) for my liking. I prefer 11:00. Restrooms were all clean and well maintained campground appeared to be in good shape and well maintained. Staff was friendly. We will definitely be making this a regular yearly stop hopefully a few stays a year.

Small rustic wooded campground with gravel roads. Campground is quiet with a large number of seasonals that had well kept clean sites and were friendly. Campground is very basic with small pool with very nice surrounding area and small playground. There is no store only an office so for any needs at all you must leave campground. Our site was moderate size, level, and clean. Fireplace is a fire ring which we didn't like. We chose this campground for its location to the White Mountains for hiking and some of the tourist attractions. Nicely located to all. This campground is sickly for hanging out at your site and taking advantage of the local offerings. They offer nothing in the way of activities. This is not a bad thing it was just what we were looking for because our main objective for the 3 days was hiking the Whites and this was perfect. Rest rooms are very basic and rustic but well maintained. We had a 3 way site camped in a 35' 5th wheel with 3 slide outs had plenty of room. We would camp here again.

As with all my reviews I like to qualify my taste in campgrounds because that tends to influence your rating significantly. I love woodys shady sites with lots of privacy so if your a RV resort concrete slab pave road type of camper this is not the campground for you. But if your like me and like the woods and the feeling of being out in the deep woods sitting around the campfire this place is AWESOME ! The campground is very small and very basic no fluff here. There is a beautiful rambling brook that splits the campground down the middle on one side is the tenting area. The tenting area is one of the best I've ever seen. Beautiful large VERY private sites, many that run along the river. If your into riverside "deep woods feeling" type of tenting this is the place. There are really no activities to speak of they do have a excellent basketball court and a basic mini-golf and small playground BUT if your into hiking they have an excellent hiking area that gives you beautiful outlooks and there is tons of hiking in the area as well. Lots of other tourist attracts close by too. Majority of the sites are small rig type of sites there are a few that can handle larger units up to 35'. We camped in a 35' 5th wheel right on the brook electric and water no sewer. The site was beautiful, quiet, private, nice round stone fireplace, and the sound of water running over the rocky riverbed all day and night. If you looking a for a nice quiet relaxing place this is it, nothing fancy just nature. The store was small and provided basic needs. The bathroom was rustic but clean. One glaring negative, the dumpstaion is on the wrong side so you have to navigate a u-turn to dump then again to leave. I don't quite understand why the don't rectify that situation. We will definitely be back, its an excellent quiet relaxing campground for just hanging out or using as a base for all the fun things to do in the area.

Very woodsy type of campground just the way I like it. Main road paved, all access roads gravel. All sites cut into the woods, many very roomy with nice privacy. Check-in staff very polite, cheerful, and helpful. We got guided to our site #48 which was a Supersite located right on the water. Site was huge with large patio deck overlooking the pond, complete with patio furniture and gas grill. Large fireplace and facilities well placed and in great shape. Good Water pressure with 2 spigots, lots of cable channels. New electrical distrubution panel. nice sewer hook up. Campground: Very pretty, well maintained campground. Big rigs beware, although super sites are huge, leaving the campground can get tight and a bit tricky. Functional little store for small items but lots of stuff in the area. Campground has a great hiking area that is well maintained. A very picturesque hike in the woods. Staff was very friendly and professional and gave the impression they loved working there. We even got an escort for the way out. Summary: My wife and I love wooded New England style campgrounds over the large RV resorts with open sites and paved roads and sites. This campground fit the bill perfectly. Very in the woods rustic campy feel to this place. Only drawback is, campground is close to Rt 16 so sites near the entrance will get road noise.

Check was smooth office person was polite. Very pretty campground, limited amount of sites for big rigs. Campsite was only 15% capacity, clean and fairly well maintained. Electrical needs updating some sites could use some work certainly some gully's and leveling is required. We booked a waterfront site #2 and found it was way to tight so they let us pick out another. We ended up with waterfront site #6. It was the most beautiful site of the campground views up and down the river as well as mountain view. Site was easy to back into but was very unlevel with a big gully that caused me to park 20' from sewer hook up. Sewer hook up for this site was not functional so I had to use one from adjacent site. (they were right next to each other). Unfortunatlely sewer hook up was on a bit of a high point so dumping was really a pain. I had to hold the sewer line up and walk it down to the connection to empty line. It turned a 15 minute job into about 45 mins. We will go back again especially off season to this site very relaxing and beautiful.

Check-in was smooth, staff was friendly. Campground has paved entrance/main road, all the rest are hard packed gravel. Limited big rig access but low hanging branches prevented travel on some of those roads. Some of the roads were in poor shape tight winding turns and exposed rocks. Campground doesn't offer much in the ways of activities. The beach was nicely manicured and sandy, but very small. Out of the 180 sites 120 are seasonal. The few seasonals we met were very nice. At least 1/2 of the seasonals were run down and looked like they have been there for years, yellow and rusty looking trailers. Some took pride in their sites, and there were new park homes scattered about. Campground is small and tightly packed it had the feel of a ratty old trailer park in the woods. Bathrooms were old, physically clean but smelly. Campground looked and felt rundown. Tiny little store with very little to offer more than hotdog/hamburger rolls, eggs, milk, and ice.

I think it would be a good idea to qualify type of park one likes when writing a review. My taste in parks: Wooded, shaded/partial sun, rustic, dirt roads, etc. Check in : We checked in on a Thursday afternoon so no lines. Owner was friendly and informative. Someone meet us at our site and helped with backing the 5th wheel in. Site: Site was clean although a bit tight for rig with 3 slides and better placement of fire pit is in order, to close to awning. All facilities worked. Water pressure was average. Loads of cable channels both standard and HD. Campground: Typical New England type of layout, winding dirt roads, wooded sites, some sites are close to each other some offer a bit more privacy. Sites near water are a little more packed in. All sites are cut into the woods a very rustic campish feeling. All sites had nice fire places made from large stones. Transient and seasonal campers were very friendly. Seasonal sites were well maintained bathrooms are dated but clean and maintained. Campground store was had adequate RV supplies but very little in the ways of food. Activities: Some scheduled activities for kids ie. crafts and candy bingo. Two small beaches with canoes and rowboats for rent at $6 an hour. Very nice small lake to canoe around in. Fishing is very good, small and large mouth bass.
