This facility offers a wide variety of site types. Ours was a large, level pull-through with conveniently located hook-ups. This campground offered a variety of amenities such as a pool, bike rental, fishing etc. It is located well off the highway in a quiet, serene setting, yet close to shopping and attractions in Charleston. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a first class KOA.
We have stayed here on three occasions with significant improvements having been made between each of our visits. This is a clean, attractive, quiet, well managed facility. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our only criticism is that the sewer connections are at the rear of the pull-through sites making it difficult for convenient connection. We will definitely stay here again.
Wide-open, semi arid setting with no shade trees. On man-made lake that cannot accommodate motor boats. Road un-paved to campground from park entrance and quite bumpy and dusty. Paved interior roads. Pull-through sites with good views of the lake, Sand Dunes and Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There are sheltered picnic tables at each site. The park is located 15 miles from Great Sand Dunes National Park. In addition to camping fee a $5 per day auto fee was charged.
Very clean city park setting, specifically designed for overnight stops. This is located just S of town on HWY 81 across from the WalMart. Self registration on the honor system with an unspecified donation requested of the camper. Maneuvering could be tight without planning, when returning from the dump station, after your stay. City of Concord to be congratulated for providing a facility of this quality.
A clean, quiet, very well managed facility with amenities such as pool, shelter and miniature golf course to entertain the children during a stop-over. Owners provide low priced ice cream treats in the evening and a pancake breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stop and use this facility again as a stop-over. Camped here in both July and August of 2007. Owner are definitely proud of there campground and it shows!
