Outstanding! The Campsites are very private shaded and large. There is a small playground for young children, fishing, and bicycle riding without the worry of heavy traffic. There is also a designated swimming area which was not busy at all. The park left cut firewood next to the fire ring for the first night of campfires after that they encourage you to gather more in the woods. The staff was one of the best to deal with and very helpful. The Park Ranger made several trips through the area to check on everyone which was a nice feeling. This would have received a perfect 10 from us except of the fact there were a few dead fish on the beach that could have been cleaned up and the occasional loud music in a vehicle that drove by other than that we highly recommend this site to anyone young and old. We will definitely be back.
All we can say about this is "Amazing Experience!" The campsites were clean, level and large. We didn't feel crowded one bit and felt like we were alone. The hook-ups were great and our son could ride his bike with no worries anywhere around. The only down side to the trip was the swimming area was not ready. not a big deal and we are sure it might have been to early in the season to get it ready. A complete relaxing weekend for sure. The Caverns is a great experience and well worth the time and money. We wish all parks were like this. Kudos to their staff!
Well, where do we start. My Wife, Son and I decided to take a weekend away. During the initial contact, my Wife called to make reservations. She talked to a woman/girl who did not know what to do and told us to call back at 6am the next morning. When my wife called back she was informed no reservations needed just "come on down" like some horror version of the price is right. When we arrived we learned that there was a small store on site which was the best part of the weekend. When we got to our pull thru site it was barely large enough to open the canopy due to the 5th wheel next to us. The sewer, electric and water hook ups were fine. We didn't have cable due to the fact that 3 other campers hi-jacked our cable line their wires ran all thru out 15ft wide camp area. There were dogs roaming the whole park that would tear thru everyones garbage maybe making it easier for the chickens to eat. Yes, Chickens roaming around. So we figured how bad can the pool be. We walked to the pool and it was very large with a 9 ft deep end. The trip was looking better. We all got into the pool and except for the fact 30 children in there we were starting to enjoy it. Until, I had a warm feeling come over me and realized the children were playing there version of who can pee the farthest in the pool. Needless to say a long hot shower with bleach was taken. All I can say about this is, if you like chickens, stray dogs, the occasional walker thru your "campsite" then this is the place for you! We woke up at 6am and couldn't wait to pack up and go. Never again to Arrowhead!
