Good park with easy access and return from/to the Interstate. Paved roads, fairly level concrete sites. FHU. Friendly office staff. We stayed a week. Enjoyed the Ameristar seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. Lots of history in the area. Probably the best park in the area that we've seen. Stayed at another park in years past, and prefer this park. We would stay again.
Great park, asphalt road, level concrete sites. Concrete pad with picnic table. Wide green space between sites. New lower rates $14.40 with Good Sams. Would have rated a 9 or 10 if Wi-Fi had worked. The lady in the office said it had been down quite a while. Harrah's must not be making enough money to have it repaired. But, we would stay here again.
Wonderful clean campground. County owned. Paved asphalt roads, level concrete sited. We were visiting friend and family in the area and would definitely return to this park. Friendly staff. Good Wi-Fi available but in the office or pavilion only.
Nice, clean park. Level sites. Roads are narrow and turning radius from our site onto the road had a tree right at the front of the coach. We had to back out of the site. Wi-fi was spotty. We would stay here again.
Nice small park with friendly owners that make the park worth staying at. Pet friendly. Easy access and egress about 5 miles south of the interstate. Real quiet. Most sites are level with grass and/or gravel combination. Wi-Fi was none existence for us. Would be rated an 8 if Wi-Fi had worked. We would return to this park.
Let's get the roads out of the way 1st - we were there during a dry spell and yes, the roads need work, but an RV park isn't for speed demons anyhow! Park is quiet and comfortable. Level grassy pull through sites with plenty of room for slides. Good DirecTv and AT&T reception. We would stay here again. Rate is Coast 2 Coast.
This park has paved roads and double wide paved sites. Very clean park, bathrooms and laundry room. Camp workers lead you to your site. Our big complaint is the advertised free Wi-Fi. Park would have received a higher rating if the Wi-Fi worked. It was constantly up and down with poor and unreliable workability. Our rate is based on Camp Club USA.
New Management has cleared the park of undesirables and is attempting to clean the park up. He has a long way to go - trash everywhere, not picked up, etc. Broken pads but still level when on the unbroken part. No worst than most KOAs. We ran from Baton Rouge to Meridian for Gustav and stayed 3-nights. Convenient handy getaway for us to escape the hurricane. Reasonable price - cash or check only. We would return for another hurricane escape.
This park is a 9+, would be a 10 with paved roads and full concrete pads. Well landscaped between sites for additional privacy. Back in sites have wide grassy area between sites. Each site has concrete access and egress with well packed and very level gravel for the motorhome. Concrete patio with picnic table. Easy access from Texas State (Toll) road 130. Very big rig friendly! We are definitely planning a return trip.
Convenient to Birmingham, but located in a run down neighborhood in transition - Many closed businesses up and down the street. The park has paved streets. The owner is friendly and upgrading sites - there are some new double wide concrete sites along with smaller and older concrete sites. Full hookup with 50-amp service. No Wi-Fi or cable, but clear shot for roof top satellite. We stayed two nights to visit friends that have relocated to Birmingham. Not sure if we would return to park because of the location.
As others have said, these two owners are what make this resort - Extremely friendly and people oriented. The resort is a 10+ secluded in the mountains about 5 miles from Helen. New paved roads, level concrete pads with plenty of shade. Cable TV channel selection is abundant. Excellent fast Wi-Fi. Easy in and out with minimum or no road noise. We will be back. The daily rate quoted is based on Camp Club USA. They sold us the membership.
Other KOA's could take a lesson from this campground. New gravel on roads and most sites providing good driving surface and level sites. Most sites are very wide and spacious with plenty of trees for shade. Not friendly to rooftop satellite, but the park has a very large selection of cable TV. Convenient to Lake Hartwell, Anderson, Clemson and surrounding area. We would definitely return to this park. Our rate is based on a 1-week stay.
Beautiful campground with large oaks and lots of green space. Our site D3 was gravel but very level, with huge grassy area between sites. Our site was open for excellent satellite reception. Owner/manager is on site and shows concern for a great stay. Convenient to all Charleston and surrounding area has to offer. Our rate is based on a 1-week stay with Good Sam discount. Would definitely return and stay at this campground.
Beautiful park and setting on the river. We stayed a week in site #1. Double wide level concrete sites, paved roads. All sites are privately owned. The management lets you pick your site from a golf cart - that way they show no partiality to any individual site owner. Great Wi-Fi from our site - but talking to others it seems to be weaker the farther you go into the park - a lady from site 15 had to walk close to the office area to receive decent Wi-Fi. Park is convenient to all that Hilton has to offer, but is very expensive - do discount for extended stay.
Excellent husband and wife management/owner team made our stay very, very nice. More parks need management like these folks. The park is big-rig friendly, with very wide level grassy sites. Probably the best grassy site we've ever experienced. Wifi works great. Minimal noise from Hwy 301. Rate is based on a 1-week stay. We will definitely stay again.
Excellent, friendly management team - husband, wife and adult son. Mixed concrete sites (11) and grassy gravel sites. Level and VERY spacious wide sites. Roads are mix of paved and excellent marble base for future paving. Restrooms are private, large and very clean. This is a new park with improvements continuing daily. Once all sites are concrete and roads paved this park will be a 10. Rate stated is based on a weekly rate. We will definitely stay again.
Friendly management - sites in the B section are mostly grass with grass patio. Our site was a mud hole - avoid B-47 - when mentioned to management they just shrugged their shoulders. Apparently the Pioneers (the non-profit Christian owners) is attempting to sell the CG and avoiding maintenance. Other stays have been much nicer but not this time. If not for the convenience of married children and grandson we'd stay somewhere else. We stayed for a week - the rate is a KOA Value Card rate. Wi-Fi is decent with the normal slow periods in the evening.
We stay at Anchors Aweigh every time we travel across I-10 because of friendly management and paved level sites with picnic table. Wide grassy area between sites. During the winter there is a high concentration of snow-birds but that allows us to meet more diverse folks. During Lent they have a Friday fish fry. Then pancake and sausage breakfast every Saturday AM (extra $$). We have and would stay again.
We are full time RV'ers and 'wintering' at Lakeside, before 'summering' in the mountains. This is the cleanest park we've ever stayed at. Yes, the park has concrete streets and wide concrete sites. It sure beats stepping into a pool of water or worse yet - mud. The Manager and staff are very friendly, and go out of the way to assist in all phases of our stay. If previous reviewers had a problem with the Manager and staff it had to be something the reviewer was doing - you only get a highlighted note on your door if you break the rules more than once. All parks have rules - it's the rules that result in a clean and safe park, rather than allowing trashy people to come in and trash the park. No cable, but if you have satellite it's no problem. Our rate is based on a monthly rate for a lakeside site. We will winter here every year!
Great park for any type of stay - 1-night or extended stay. We have stayed here before visiting friends across the interstate, and would stay again. We are here for 4-nights this time. Long Pull-thru site. All concrete paved roads. Concrete level pads and patios with picnic tables. No trees but that equates to great reception for rooftop satellite. Our rate is 2 nights Passport America and 2 nights Good Sams.
Workamper managers are extremely friendly and helpful. I know it's out of their control but County Rd. 102 into the campground is terrible. It's narrow and rough, but once you reach the campground the roads are paved and in extremely good condition. Our site faced the river. It was a gravel site and almost level, with concrete patio with picnic table and large grassy area around the coach. We would definitely stay again. Nice newly fenced grassy pet run! They seem to be constantly improving the park.
This is probably the best kept secret in Texas. Great park with large sites, huge grassy patio area between sites with picnic table. Lots of shade trees. Our site faced the airfield - minimum noise except for private planes taking off and landing. A Municipal Park owned and operated by City of Fredericksburg, with full hookups, including large selection of cable TV. Our site was treed but still rooftop satellite friendly. Extremely friendly and helpful management. We are planning a winter return stay.
Nice park for overnight stop. Gravel roads. Our gravel site was one of the most level and quickest to setup on our current trip (6,000 miles since we left Baton Rouge on March 21st). Grassy patio with bench seat. Easy off and on the Interstate, but with little road noise. Friendly management! We would stay here again. Price paid is Escapees price!
The park is a 10+. It's new! Wide asphalt paved streets. Double wide level concrete pad plus concrete patio. Landscaped with desert landscaping between sites. Well maintained grassy areas around the parameter of the park. Three separate combo laundry and restroom/bath facilities. Each unit has 5 private bathrooms with showers + a Free Laundry with 4 new Maytag washers and dryers. We would definitely camp here again! We rated it a 9 because the wifi did not work for us - we had to rely on a Cingular Aircard.
Typical KOA - gravel roads, gravel pads with gravel patio. Our premium pad site #3 was not all that level, but offered a nice view of the surrounding hills that included a picnic table, swing and fire pit on concrete pad. If entire patio had been concrete our stay would have been more enjoyable. They offer great a breakfast and dinner for extra $$. Owners Deb and Dennis are friendly and helpful.
Nice park with large level gravel pad. Gravel patio with picnic table that needed repair to replace warped boards rendering it unusable. Paved streets. Three large fenced dog runs! Friendly excellent management. One big negative is the sewer stench that permeates the park when the wind blows from the south, which is most days. Priced right versus other local parks.
Nice park - well laid out with wide level gravel sites. Gravel patio with picnic table. Roads are well packed gravel as well. Fenced in dog run is nice but a little out of way if your site is toward the front of the park. Wonderful Sunday Pot Luck Dinner, great friendship among campers. Excellent owners but have a tendency to be a little overbearing. Chastised us smoking IN our RV with windows open, and a cigar outside of our RV with wind blowing.
Great park - extremely clean. Wide level gravel sites. Gravel patios with picnic table. Fast wi-fi. Friendly management. Fenced grassy dog run. Rec area with comfortable & covered seating to meet friends or just unwind. We stayed for 3-nights and would definitely stay again.
The park location is a 10. Asphalt paved streets, level red clay site. Patio is the same red clay. No grass - we are in a desert. Small trees offer some shade. Pull thrus face north affording afternoon shade from the coach. When it rains all sites and patios become red mud.
The name of the park says it all - Oasis in a desert. What a welcome relief to come back to the park after a day exploring the nearby desert attractions. Clean, well maintained park. Level gravel sites with freshly mowed grassy patio. Many trees - not good for roof top satellite reception but the park has excellent cable TV. Very fast wifi. We are here for a week and would return again.
One of the better KOAs - definitely an exception to the usual KOA. Our back-in spot #54 was a wide packed gravel level site with a 6 foot concrete patio the full length of the site, plus an adjoining 8 feet of grass. Excellent fast WiFi, as well as excellent satellite reception. We stayed for 4 nights and would stay again. I guess it's a destination site (Bryce & Zion) but still a little overpriced.
Overall we would rate the park a 9 - but the WiFi is very slow - so we have lowered the rating to an 8. Wide level sites with plenty of well mowed and maintained green grass for patio. Easy access from I-15 but off the main road for a very quiet campground. Excellent, friendly owner and management. Nice touch in July is the daily ice cream social.
Nice park, but needs improvement. Paved but narrow streets. Concrete pads for the apparent long term residents, but the daily and weekly traveler must use grassy sites, some with deep ruts that need leveling and gravel. Treed lots impede roof top satellite, but the park has good cable. Good fast WiFi.
Very nice park - clean and well maintained. Wide level gravel spaces with wide grassy area between spaces. Easy on and off I-15. Good wifi. We stayed 4-nights and would stay again. Price is "Escapees" pricing. For the money one of the best parks we've stayed at since leaving Baton Rouge in mid March. We would stay again! Recommend!
Nice park located in nice setting. Convenient to Butte and Anaconda. Sites are fairly level with adequate green space between sites. The newer sites are back-in but wider. 50-amp is limited in the park but they are in the process of making 50-amp available. We had to move from a pull thru to a backup to get 50-amp for a week, but we're glad we did because this newer section has wider sites and is out of the flow of everyday traffic.
Beautiful park with wide, LEVEL, gravel sites with many trees, but still with great rooftop satellite reception. Asphalt paved streets. Prior comment mention wifi only from Laundry area. We are in a pull-through, #E4, with excellent & fast wifi. This is one the best parks we've stayed in since departing Baton Rouge on March 21st. We would definitely stay again. Daily rate is based on a 1-week stay.
The park itself is a 10, beautifully treed, level gravel sites with concrete patio & picnic table, and asphalt streets. Wonderful & friendly management & owners on site. The only negative keeping us from rating them an overall 10 is the yo-yo up and down WiFi. We stayed for a week and would definitely return.
Excellent, clean park - well maintained and freshly mowed. Long level gravel pull through with grassy patio. They offer wooded sites as well. WiFi is not the fastest but considering you are 17 miles from the nearest city and in the middle of a beautiful meadow surrounded by mountains we guess it doesn't hurt to slow down a little. We thought about a lesser rating because of no sewer connection but they offer a free pumper truck for staying 4-nights. Cingular does NOT work here. We would stay here again.
Great park - wide streets, wide level sites with wide grassy area between sites. Some of the park is paved while part is gravel or processed asphalt. Friendly management! You are allowed to wash your rig for a small fee ($10 for both rig and tow car). We are here for a week - the price indicated is based on the weekly rate. Wi-fi is extra but excellent. We would stay here again.
Great management team - guiding you in, even in the rain. Sites are typical with picnic table - not the widest we've seen, but ample room. The sites are level gravel - the owners add new gravel every year. One big plus is that every other site is opposite from the next - putting sewer to sewer and door to door. It's nice sitting outside without the neighbors sewer hookup.
The only negatives about this park are the entry road off the highway is very narrow, the site grass was not mowed, and they accept cash or check only. Otherwise the pull through sites are very wide, grass patio with table and level gravel site. We would stay again. Nice friendly couple management/owners.
Too bad we cannot leave a ZERO Overall Rating, but at least the good WiFi connection allowing us to leave this review is worth a 1. They describe the sites as Premium but they are not level. We had to change sites in order to get somewhat level. It is the worst site/park we've stayed at since the beginning of our trip on March 21st. Unkempt, needs mowing! We would NOT stay here again. Even with the KOA Hot Deal - buy 2 nights get 1 night free - it not worth it. Keep Driving!
This camp was overpriced but the nicest park we've stayed at since our summer trip began in March 2007. Although out of the owner's control - we would have rated the park a 10 except the entry road is torn up and the gravel is rough, which is apparently under repair. The gravel site was level with concrete patios, swing set, and a table with an umbrella. We stayed for 3 nights and would stay here again.
Peter is what makes the park - he is the "BEST", giving travel tips, maps and information guides. Nice clean park, clean restrooms & showers. Convenient to the interstate (I-90), downtown and the Sheridan Inn for dining. We had planned to stay for just 2 nights but will stay a few extra days.
Perfect Location for Devils Tower - abuts the Tower entrance. It's early in the season and the park needs some attention - primarily not mowed. Excellent and friendly management. When we mentioned the site needed mowing - it was completed within an hour. Fairly level sites - although it took time to position the RV even with levelers.
Nice park outside the bustle of Rapid City, but close to the all of the Black Hills attractions. Our RV site is gravel but most are grass. Limited 50-amp sites - definitely call ahead if you require 50-amp. Friendly management. Entrance road is a one mile gravel road - but fairly well maintained. Close to I-90 - sits on a hill overlooking the interstate with limited noise.
Decent older park - nice management! Sites are typical gravel but currently not well maintained - it could be early in the season. Close to downtown - walking distance. Excellent access to the interstate.
Large, clean park. Well maintained with large grassy area for each RV. The mowing crew even mows while you occupy your slot as needed, moving your stuff and placing them back in place when finished. Close to the interstate for easy access and egress but with little noise. We'd stay again!
Friendly management. Clean and well kept park. Close to the interstate, but without too much interstate noise. We stayed only 1 night passing through but would stay again. Park is terraced on a hill side with level sites.
Great RV park - big treed sites with large 50+ year old cottonwood trees. Extremely friendly and helpful management/owners. Well kept and clean. A big plus is free wifi. We're there for only 2 days but would stay longer and again.
Out of the way and off the beaten track - the 14-mile road in is twisty, hilly and a slow trek. Campground is clean. Combo asphalt and gravel road. Sites are level, although mostly a mixture of gravel and grass. Excellent friendly owners and staff. One draw back is the distance to Rogers shopping, traversing the 14-mile road every time you leave the park. Close to Eureka Springs, Bentonville and even Branson, MO for day trips.
Well maintained park with friendly excellent staff. Sites are close together, but considering the park was designed prior to 'big rigs' and multiple slides it is close to the Interstate and provides a comfortable overnight experience. We actually stayed a 2nd night, and would stay again should the opportunity arise.
Clean park, with asphalt streets surrounding all gravel sites. There is no grass at any site - all of the grass is at one end of the park. Sites are close together making it unworkable to use the awning. Previous review mentioned expulsion from the park if you let your pet use the No Pet areas. There is only one pet area at the west end of the park - they currently have doggie bags but the doggie bag holders are empty. I've been told they are taking them down because some people abuse the bag availability. Sounds like they are cutting corners to save $$. The 7+ acres is For Sale, maybe that says it all.
Excellent and beautiful campground. Three sites are located directly on the Arkansas River with 30-amp and water - these are back-in only, but allows for river view from the front windows of an RV. Eighteen relatively new sites have 50-amp service with water. Sites are very large with paved pads, covered picnic tables, fire ring, grill and table for scaling fish. We would definitely return and have already recommended to other campers. Campground is is organized as follows: C1-3 - Riverfront - 30amp & water All B sites - 30-amp and water. All A sites - 50-amp and water. Dump station was on the left as you exit the park. Clean restroom, clean park and excellent volunteer staff.
Excellent CG with excellent management team - apparently husband and wife team. We've stayed at other CG's in Tallahassee but much prefer this CG verses the others. Shaded sites - sites are gravel but level. Convenient to I-10.
We've stayed at Anchors Aweigh twice in February on both legs of a trip to Florida - going and returning to Louisiana. NEW Park just opened in October, 2006 with WIDE streets and sites. Excellent husband and wife management team really make you feel at home and most of all welcome! This CG is at the top of our list for return visits.
EXCELLENT new park with wide paved roads, wide spacious sites. Friendly management providing a clean facility. Livingston is close to any of the major Louisiana cities - Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Hammond. While staying at Lakeside be sure to visit Wayne's BBQ up Hwy 63 - some of the best brisket, ribs and pork you'll ever find.
Well run park with excellent management team - apparently husband and wife. Although some reviews have mentioned narrow sites designed before the 'big rig' era and multiple slides the management team attempts to space rigs in every other slot as available. Park is clean with updated laundry, shower facilities + a large fenced dog run. What a relief for our dog to be able to run free, exercise and play without the restraint of a lease. As fulltimers we appreciate the large dog run. We have stayed a week on our way to summer in Montana but will stay a second week. Vicksburg and the surrounding area is beautiful and the town offers a wide variety of sites, history and eateries.
