This is a great park. Sites are large enough for even big rigs and the customer service is wonderful. Seems they have everything at this park, pool, kiddie activities, tour to New York City (for a fee) walking trail and free pancakes every morning. The store was large with all of the items campers would need and the bathrooms were very clean. We didn't use the bathrooms or showers but they looked very clean. The weekend we were there they had a grand opening of a coffee shop/sandwich shop on the premises and it was lovely. We will definitely go back there and recommend it to our friends.
This has had to be one of the worst camping experiences we have ever had. We had heard from friends who had stayed there last year that this place is nice because it's close to the city. However I have to say that these are the most ignorant people we have ever met. They have absolutely NO customer service whatsoever. After making reservations we were told when we arrived that our site had to be moved. We were Ok with that however when we saw our site it was so small we could hardly maneuver into it. My husband has been parking our RV for many many years and it was difficult for him. Then when we complained they told us that we could move to an area they called the dry storage and pay the same amount until a bigger site opened up probably the next day. We had a slight argument over this with them and they abruptly told us they would refund our money and we could leave if we were not happy. So luckily we had a generator with us so we moved to the other area hoping that a site would open the next day as we were told. That night we were approached by a security guard telling us that we could not have our generator on because it was too loud. So we had to spend the night in 80 degree weather with no AC. The next day we asked for a refund and said we would be leaving due to the conditions and were told that they could not refund our money because we already stayed one of the nights of our stay. We immediately packed up and left and went to a local Wal-Mart where we stayed free and were able to run our generator. What a nightmare this place is. I don't care how close to New York city it is I won't ever stay there again nor will I recommend it to anyone.
