The good: beautiful location (river on one side, view of the Smoky's on the other), nice level sites, wonderful staff (the best we've ever run across), area activities, and beauty. The bad: 5mph speed limit on a LONG campground road to the sites takes time. The rate shown includes discounts for a 3-week stay. We would definitely stay here again.
The good: level and roomy sites, good pull-through room, nice setting (pond, hills, etc), wonderful staff, and beautiful surrounding area. The bad: permanent residents leave for work starting at 5am (and they all have loud pickup trucks), 24/7 truck/road noise from I-70 for any of the non-permanent sites (the ones closest to the road) is horrible. The rate listed reflects discounts for a two-week stay. The road noise, for us, is a killer and we won't be back.
The good: real gated security, paved interior road, helpful staff, well-kept campground, level and roomy sites, nice facilities, resort town nearby, and lots to do in the area. The bad: drainage in severe weather and gravel sites. This was our first campground on our new journey as full-timers, and this campground spoiled us. Except for a paved or concrete pad, you couldn't ask for more. The rate listed reflects the discount for a two-week stay. We'll be back if we're in the area again.
The good: paved campground road, full and level concrete pads, wonderful staff, great facilities, lovely view of Guntersville Lake, quiet area, snf roomy sites. The bad: Horrible Wi-Fi, 15 miles from stores, and rough parts of the 10-mile road to park (route 67). This campground would have rated a 9 if it weren't for the Wi-Fi. We were less than 75 yards from the office, had great signal strength, and there were only 2 other people in the park. The problem (confirmed by the staff) is that the absentee owner has throttled the bandwidth to the point where it's useless. Every 15-30 minutes the site will require a new log-in with the security code. Anything you were working on will be lost. Simple email takes an eternity. Don't even attempt any type of data transfer (it will never finish or will fail). The nightly rate reflects Windemere's discount for a two-week stay. We will not stay here again.
