A beautifully landscaped and maintained campground. We stayed two nights, visiting friends in the area. This time of year the place was maybe 20% occupied, so we had a prime site on the perimeter. I would imagine that in the high season, it could be a very busy place with the 300 plus sites. There is some noise from the adjacent water park and from the interstate highway a few blocks away, but not enough to be annoying. But this is an urban park with all the pluses and minuses that that intails.
Park is a couple of miles off the main highway, but very easy to find. Spaces are generous, park is well maintained, and the area is scenic and quiet. We stayed two nights to visit the famous Tehachapi loop on the railroad. Was very impressed by the town and surrounding area. Only complaint about the campground is the small number of washers and dryers in the laundry.
As most people have said, this is a very modern, beautiful park with level, concrete, back-in sites. The place has all the facilities. However, when checking in, my rate was quoted as $47. I commented that the TL book and this review page had noted the rate was $35. The clerk stated in no uncertain terms that $47 was the rate now, and gave me a written rate card. There is lots of construction adjacent to the park due to expansion, and the entrance road is a mess.
This is a great park for overnight or longer. Easy in and out sites, but there are some back-ins also. A very friendly staff. We had a long pull through with plenty of room. Did not use the facilities, but would stay here again and recommend.
Park is convenient to interstate, and has long, wide sites. Quiet and dark at night. Good park for an overnight. Area, including motel, looks like deferred maintenance. Some trash on grounds and some trashy looking semi-permanent residents. Picnic tables are in need of major repair. Did not try free breakfast or use restrooms.
