Second visit to the Wisconsin Dell's KOA. We visisted on the Fall Clean Up Weekend. We stayed in the upper part this year so the train did not bother us. Once again the staff was very friendly, bathrooms/showers clean, WIFI worked well, and quite at night. We like camping here late season for the Autumn Harvest Festival, the staff is always welcoming and happy to have us there. Thank you for another great visit.
I agree with the comment below, that they need to work on their reservation process. However, overall we were happy with our visit here. The staff was friendly when we checked in, the campground was in good condition and the electricity and cable worked well. Overall the campground was quiet and wooded. Bathrooms needed some modernanization, but at least were clean. I will stay here again on our next trip up to Bayfield. Thank you for a nice visit.
We stayed here memorial day weekend. We stayed in a campsite across from some of the cabins, as we had friends staying in the cabin. I felt it was a nice campground to stay at. Sites were wide enough and had some room. Staff was friendly, family's camping nearby were all friendly. Pool was full as it was a great weekend for weather. Back to the sites. They were grassy, shaded, water, electric and sewer. Wouldn't ask to change any of that. Thank you for the great weekend. Our friends loved the cabin as well.
Stayed early season at this campground. First weekend in May. Not too many people there or much going on yet. Understandable though, so was peacefull and relaxing, expect for the constant noise of I90/94. That was loud. The pool just opened for season, expect too cold to use, but looked nice. Waterpark not open yet for season, but looked fun for young kids. Looked like during the summer kids would have fun there. Sites were very close together, no room for tow vehicles at some. Waterfront area needs some attention, clean up and restoration. Cabin's there look really nice! Would I stay here again. Humm, during the off season, probably. On season, no too close for my comfort.
In the middle on this campground. Nice place, just campsites are way to close together. We stayed in Oct so there were only 6 or 8 campers there that weekend, so we could spread out just fine. However on a busy summer weekend, I would not stay there. Staff was nice, restrooms clean. Pool was shut down for the season so no comments on that. Wireless worked great, thank you for that. Free as well which is really nice for a change. Only gripe I have is that the sites are too close together, staggered so sitting under your awning, look to the left and you are looking at the back of the camper next to you. Look straight ahead and looking at the side of the camper in front of you. Basically boxed in. But in the off season, it is okay. Oh one more thing. There is a train across the street and it went by 3 times a night on us. very very loud if you are located on the lower sites.
We stayed at Glacier Basin, appears to be nicest campground there. We had a great view of the mountains from our site. However with that site across from the field came some good wind. We adjusted not really a big deal. No electric anywhere, but we knew that coming in. Only cold water in bathrooms, no showers, etc. However we knew that going in as well, and just showered in our camper. Was a nice place to stay and walked the dogs around with every night. Wow, the wildlife that comes into the campground is great to watch. Bear warnings up, but don't fret, doesn't seem to be a problem there, just follow the rules. Would I stay at this campground again. Yes I would, and it is very close to some great hiking. Also the vendor that comes in to sell ice and ice cream and wood was nice to have there in the evenings. Reasonable pricing on those items as well.
I have mixed reviews for this campground. The facilities where nice and clean, restrooms, laundry room, game room, etc. Staff was friendly and the ice cream social and items were nice idea. Escort to campsite was nice idea as well. Really I only have a couple gripes about this place. It is too bad it is basically in town, and the sites are way way too close together. Our site was at the end of a row, so the camper next to me had their awning out, and was almost touching my camper. On the other side I would sit on one side of the picnic table and my back was 6 inches from the road that seemed to constantly have diesel trucks running back and forth on. No room for tow vehicles either. Overall it was not fun place to stay. If you are passing through for the night, or plan on being off site-seeing and not spending much time at the campground, then it will be fine. Except then the price will be high for the little time you spend there. Mostly very large rigs there, however that has nothing to do with the campground, it's just we have a 19' travel trailer and felt like a minnow in a ocean.
Very disapointed in this campground. Initial check in was fine, and the girl working the counter was friendly. We were put into a river site. Drove down to the river sites, found our site, and we would have needed a can opener to get our camper in that site. We would not have been able to put out our own awning and the campsite next to us had a campfire going that would have been 2 feet from the side of our camper. I was not about to put my camper in that spot and ruin it and ruin our experience. I asked to be moved to another site that was slightly larger, but they claimed all river sites then were full. They didn't care about my concerns and while I was explaining my concerns the owner walked by looked at us and could hear, but never cared to help or talk to me. We had to move to another site across from the river sites. Almost as tight. However, 6 river sites sat empty the whole time we were there. The campground looked like a RV sales lot they were so close, once the campers where on the sites, there was no place to put your tow vehicle. Bathrooms were okay, no grass, whole place all gravel, but I think that is a colorado thing due to the nature of the landscape. I would never go back there, and would not recommend it, unless you are just stopping in for the night then maybe. Oh and there is a trailer park in the middle of the campground that is really run down! This place should really take the "resort" out of their name!!!
